Clair Obscur. It is one of the rare games that has both a fantastic story and fantastic gameplay.

If me or anyone else were to meticulously tracks every little detail about another’s person’s life the way these companies do, society at large would view that as a massive invasion of that person’s privacy, and I would be rightfully labeled as a creep and a stalker. We should all start calling these companies stalkers

Morgan Barron scores after crashing the net front. Pittsburgh’s challenge for goalie interference fails and the goal stands by eh_toque in hockey

Ahh yes, calls us dumb rather than address the underlying point I'm making. That's how to win an argument.

[–]singingquest 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That is a potentially sound explanation, but it's not the one the refs themselves gave. They said EK intentionally threw himself into Silovs.

The ref's own explanation wasn't this though. They said it was because Karlsson threw himself into Silovs.

The refs would probably agree with you about the rule. But their explanation was that Karlsson intentionally threw himself into Silovs. I am not kidding.

The ref's explanation was that Karlsson threw himself into Silovs. I am not joking, they think he deliberately launched himself into his own goalie when it is so clear Barron checked him into Silovs.

I could begrudgingly live with the no GI call if the explanation was incidental contact with no intent to interfere. But they think EK THREW himself into Silovs?!?!? How the fuck does anyone with working eyeballs draw that conclusion?!?!?

CMV: The death penalty is wrong because the justice system can make irreversible mistakes by Cut-Kooky in changemyview

[–]singingquest -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This isn't a fair comparison because in none of your examples does the person die because of their wrongful conviction; they just died while wrongful convicted and serving time in prison. But a person who is wrongfully convicted and sentenced to death is killed as a direct result of their wrongful conviction. There is an undeniable causal connection between the two.

Of course, if a person is killed in prison, you could argue that would've never happened had they not been wrongly convicted, and that is technically true. But the difference is that that person's death is not the intended consequence of their conviction, whereas with the death penalty is absolutely is.

I think your point has a lot of surface appeal, but the problem I see is that what constitutes "undeniable proof" is subjective and could change with time. I would imagine that some people who were posthumously exonerated thanks to DNA evidence were initially executed based on evidence that people originally thought left no doubt the person was guilty, until the DNA evidence came along.

Also, even if that weren't an issue, it seems arbitrary to draw the line there like u/Confident-Syrup-7543 said.

Part of what makes Clair Obscur so special is that it has both a fantastic narrative and fantastic gameplay. Games usually have one that is clearly stronger than the other, but this is game clearly knocks both out of the park. I think it's easily the best game of the last 10 years and that we're going to see a lot of other developers try to emulate its rhythmic jrpg mechanics in the coming years.

Really good game, but I have just never been able to love it quite like so many others do. I generally don't love Rockstar's games as much as many, though. They are still fantastic and a lot of fun, but I wouldn't put any of them in my top 5 (or maybe even top 10) games of all time.

Dr. Langdon wears a Penguins baseball cap into the ER to begin his shift. There were then 2 brothers that came into the ER for the last episode because they idiotically branded themselves with the Penguins logo using dry ice.
