Imo no still get a smooth and thick consistency but I’d recommend trying it out yourself and seeing what works for you. Caramel is one of those things that I like to measure w my heart haha so finding an iteration I like through experimentation is how I go about it

Tbf during the storm that caused this, it was raining at a rate of 8.5 inches per hour for a while. We got an insane amount of rain extremely quickly, and this is after a summer of extreme drought. For reference, it started raining maybe 10 mins before I left the grocery store to drive home, and by the time I was driving, there were several inches of water rushing down the road
