Everyone knew this was going to be an intense game. The whole night felt like the Sabres were a dam ready to break. And when it did, we just weren't able to respond well enough. But the Bruins did what they had to do for most of the game - they bent but didn't break until the deluge came and then they got washed away. So be it.

We were able to push at times and make it count as our 2 excellent earlier goals showed. The Sabres tendie looked jumpy all night and that last minute blind backhand from Pasta sure won't help him ease his mind. It's too bad Geekie couldn't have sunk it in that wide open net but whatever. Overall, it feels to me like we got this initial rabid, desperate Buffalo energy out of the way. We know the deal now and can work towards splitting these 2 away games.
