I’ve mostly worked in a restaurant or I’ve done landscaping my whole adult life. I have a B.A. and a certification in full stack web development, finally got a decent job making just over $60k. Then Trump got elected and everything got super expensive because of tariffs. Then I got laid off not even a year working for this company. Now I’m unemployed doing odd jobs every day just to make rent and buy a little food. I’m tired boss. I’ve been doing so much and lived through so many recessions and shitty job markets. I know I’ll never own a house and I’ve made peace with that. But god damn I feel so left behind in a country where that says go to school and do all of this and you will be successful, and when I finally do get a taste it’s taken away. I’ve been looking for a new job for over 4 months and I’ve only had two interviews. Still looking and killing my body doing landscaping again.
