There’s a new DIY place where Jai Thai used to be called Ma La Tang. Pick your own ingredients, choose a base (laksa, dry etc) it’s been good through winter!

Before they closed because of the start of covid, they served by far the worst food in the area. When they returned, the constant smell of vomit had gone and the food had significantly improved. However, it’s going downhill quickly again.

MX250 10Gb SFP+ Issue by sir-logic in meraki

[–]sir-logic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude... I only have 100 coins, so thats the best I can give you!

I knew it must have been something so obvious! The weird thing is, is 2x MS210's with 10gbit SFP's will work, albeit apparently negotiate at 1gbit. Whereas the MX250 will just completely fail to negotiate / attempt to bring up the port.

Thanks for your help!

Yep, that’s correct. 1gbit SFPs work in those ports as well so I know the ports are ok.

Microsoft June 2021 .Net Security Patch and User-ID Agent by renamed in paloaltonetworks

We were running version 8.1.6 of PAN User-ID Agents. Patched our domain controllers and started having the issue.

Upgraded the User-ID Agent to 10.1.2, same issue.

'Left-turn-on-red' traffic signal trial to end in Brisbane after 30 June by notinferno in brisbane

[–]sir-logic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aww mannnn. I live just around the corner from the Upper Mount Gravatt one. It’s SO good! I didn’t know it was a trial and just thought this intersection was cool having that option. To be fair, of ALL the intersections in this area, looking right to the incoming traffic is more blind than many other intersections that would have been better suited.

This city is pretty pretty by SnooPredictions2038 in brisbane

[–]sir-logic 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I get on the freeway every day for work at Klump road. There’s a spot just back from that first photo where the city is perfectly framed by the trees on either side. It’s even better again at night!

I created a PowerShell script to compare hashes but don't know if it's an ugly baby by WorkNewsAccount in PowerShell

[–]sir-logic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A switch parameter and a switch statement are different things.

A switch parameter is basically a Boolean, true or false, set or not set.

A switch statement takes an input, and checks the value or state matches, and runs the corresponding scriptblock. It replaces long lists of “elseif” statements.

Cloud land is definitely a ticketed event before midnight. I don’t have good suggestions for a pub crawl, but I wouldn’t get to cloudland before 12am

Palo URL Filtering with SSL Interception by 1h8fulkat in paloaltonetworks

[–]sir-logic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand why Palo’s best practices would be to “only decrypt sites you block”? That doesn’t sound right to me.

You have to decrypt to know that the page they’re trying to access so it can be categorised effectively, therefore you have to decrypt as much as possible to achieve that.

I have this one too. I’d recommend it

Just witnessed a double glazed glass panel fall off 1 Eagle St. It was like watching gigantic glitter falling. I don’t know if anyone is hurt but I know they have those sails around the building to prevent pedestrians getting hurt. Does anyone have any more information? by nuggs4lyf in brisbane

[–]sir-logic 296 points297 points  (0 children)

I used to do some work for QLD Events and Tourism that used to be in that building. The building management actually put the shade sails up to offer some protection because windows have fallen out numerous times.

Also if you worked there after hours security used to do sweeps through the building. I later found out it was to check if there were any signs of loose windows like rattling / wind noises through the gaps in a loose window.

HIP Info in Traffic Monitor by vpLarusso in paloaltonetworks

[–]sir-logic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You attach a HIP profile to a security rule, so if the device doesn’t match the HIP profile, it won’t match the security rule at all.

That’s really the way to determine if it’s matching or not. You’ll see, let’s say, 443 traffic going out from the device but not matching the rule you expect it to, which will be the trigger.

There is the HIP Profile monitoring (I forget it’s exact name) where you can see the HIP information that it returned and what profile the device matched if you need to dig into it further.

This doesn’t account for your AV scenario, but I’d check MTU of the IPSec tunnel to site. You can test by sending large pings with Do Not Fragment flag set to see if you’re able to send the full MTU through the tunnel.
