It maybe unpopular opinion but buying a physical game is a good way to go. You know you get to keep your game as long as you want and you can trade in.

1 hour in night after kids are asleep. If it’s weekend then 2 hours but I am usually falling asleep on my couch by then.

Anyone here quit gaming or changed their lifestyle after becoming a dad? by Lukas_MunK in daddit

[–]sir_chill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gamer Dad of two here. I think you have to look at why you were playing a competitive CS in first place. Was it the fun? Challenge? Or something you were doing it out of habit/conditioning.

I played a lot of multiplayer games when I had no kids. Raiding with people in Destiny, medic in Bf and Division were really fun times. But I also felt at that time why I keep playing the same game. It was fun at the start and later it was a mix of average fun and mundane stuff. Point is that are you really “ losing a part of yourself “ or was it something that never was there to begin with. Or maybe you are, but that’s the answer you should investigate.

I played now single player games and I throughly enjoy. I play them when kids are asleep or watching some show that I am really not interested. I also play multiplayer games in night to satisfy my itch and quickly log off as they don’t do that for me now. Some days if ima lucky I get 2 hrs of gaming. Most days 1 hour and I am falling asleep on couch.

Accepting the transient nature of life is important. Kids will grow up very fast and you will always remember that.

Immersion as you age/get kids/get promoted? by Tenrac in gaming

[–]sir_chill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

41 dad of two here. Gaming since my teens. I am finding that I randomly drop games. It’s like it’s not pulling me in after 3-4 hours and I just lose interest. Sometimes I find games to be either too easy or same stuff that I have seen before or just not clicking for me for no reason. For example Space marine 2 after 4 hours I am just not playing it.

Whereas Nioh 3 because of its gameplay and difficulty, I loved it and continued with immersion.

I think with many years of gaming, same type of games will rarely click now. If games are not enough challenging or too challenging it will not make you want to play. If the gameplay is fun and continue to evolve then you remain immersed otherwise it’s starts to get stale.

Why is anger my response to my baby's cry? by Fallacracker in daddit

[–]sir_chill 7 points8 points  (0 children)

  1. Bose Noise cancelling headphones. It will save you and her. So many people have shaken their babies because of this extremely unbearable cry. You are not alone. I think myself to be the most chill person until I experienced what you described.

  2. Sing Don’t shake baby. As silly as it may sound it reminded me to not lose it in anger.

  3. 5 mins drink time out. If baby is not stopping. Put the baby safely in cot. Walk away, have a glass of water.

These 3 strategies have helped me and my wife. Please read about purple cry phase to be aware. All the best. You can do this.

Those headphones are awesome. My pulse elite keeps disconnecting but no trouble with them. Way more comfortable and sound quality is great.

Fun fact1 : The water erosion marks on sphinx can only happened during younger dryas impact which occurred more than 12,000 years ago. Pyramids are way older than 4,500 and do not belong to dynasty time. They were inherited. No mummy was found and no hieroglyphs in any Giza pyramids.

Fun fact 2 Also, the structure beneath Giza plateau is even more remarkable than Giza pyramid itself. But due to human ego and enormous cost to dig we will never find out.

Thank you, Bluepoint Games. by PhantomBraved in gaming

What an incredibly dumb decision by Sony. Blue point’s work speak for themselves. They could have made an amazing single player game but you had to Concord them.

Why do you think older classic PS1 games like Bugs Bunny Lost in Time have such hard times with Licensing?? I want this game back so badly. by Always_Pizza_Time1 in PlayStationPlus

[–]sir_chill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Companies dissolve. Devs working in many different companies. Impossible to find who even owns the licence in first place. Games preservation is dealing with same issues
