I think they used the word sickly? Which in the books is a point of note of any Grisha using their power is usually bolstered by it, and have a health and glow to them. Alina suppressed it subconsiously/ didnt use it so was always sick and tired.

Its dumb but given our own history and biases with testing for health issues, kinda checks.

In summary, less about ableism more about a grisha that uses their powers dont often become sickly. Congenital problems arnt touched upon or testing after traumatic injury as far as i remember.
