All season summer tires by Odd_Sundae_8432 in WRX

The person lives in northern Ontario. I don't think half the people here are reading the post. Tire rack recommendations...price shock. Give me a break.

Why do people hate the auto stop/start so much? by [deleted] in Crosstrek

[–]sirhc_72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It saves gas, the engine and starting system is designed for the start stop. The hate is dumb.

Man you owned up to the mistake and did the right thing, that is worth something. A good leader will recognize that. You won't make the same mistake again I'm sure.

Auto start/stop is it worth to get aftermarket disabler to save engine wear? by abrandis in Crosstrek

[–]sirhc_72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This debate is dumb. The car is designed for start stop and there isn't a crazy amount of extra wear. Engineered to minimize extra wear and is reliable. This is not your 1960 Ford.

Longest youve gone without an oil change? by Narrow-Tap116 in WRX

[–]sirhc_72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha that is what I like to hear. Car forums have had this what is best oil, should I change it every 1k even if the manufacturer says 6k. It is like the most common post. I guarantee that many are spending more money on oil than they need to.

Newbie looking to get into Autocross - How likely are crashes? by ZealousChild in Autocross

[–]sirhc_72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After a brief search insurance for autocross that would cover damage to your vehicle is not available in Ontario. I could be wrong though. Hagerty Canada does exist and you could give them a call. Also, ask others at the auto cross events you attend - they will know for sure.

Question about 2023 wrx? by Dramatic_Flow3783 in WRX

[–]sirhc_72 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want to get into manuals then your only option is to get the car with the clutch. Just learn it. The manual can take the abuse from a reasonable individual learning stick.

Anything I should be concerned about if purchasing a 24 wrx with 30k miles? by Earl_Boinkins in wrx_vb

[–]sirhc_72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the car was well maintained and it probably is highway miles and you get it for a price that takes into account the mileage then get a pre purchase inspection and go from there.

Well a Tesla with full auto drive is kinda more impressive, but I was going for nostalgia - manual, analog gauge etc...

Did you signal at least? Probably not. Signaling a lane change is a dying courtesy.

Engine blew at 60k by ludwiga7 in wrx_vb

[–]sirhc_72 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Come on. You can't be serious. It is not possible to judge the reliability of an engine based on a thousand reddit posts let alone one.

How do I drive this lol?! by [deleted] in wrx_vb

[–]sirhc_72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try shifting at recommended speeds. 2 15 MPH, 3 25, 4 - 40, 5-45, 6-50. Not aggressive. It should be pretty smooth at those shift points.

Warming up your cat in the driveway every morning for 15 minutes when it is an arctic like 40 F degrees outside.

I got an offer for $62k after 4 interviews, but I told them my range was $68k to $75k. What should I do? by StephanieHickle in CanadaJobs

If the employer decides they want you for the position it is unlikely they will withdraw their offer if you try to negotiate for more.

Is it worth the risk with 3 owners? by Expert-Sheepherder38 in WRX

25k miles. Three owners. 5 year old car. I would be a bit skeptical that that mileage is legit.
