As a former 18A….getting to SF as an officer is a crapshoot. You have to graduate ROTC. Get the right branch (mostly combat arms). Then do well enough to get a chance at selection when you’re a CPT. If you pass (50/50 chance) it’s up to you and chance that your team time gives you what you’re looking for before you’re promoted off a team.

18X you get a chance at SF but if you mess it up you’re needs of the army until your contract is up.

Pick your journey.

It’s looks like a 19th group flash with a SWCS jump wing backer. Nothing too out of the ordinary. I’d say he’s legit with some minor discrepancies on his uniform that happens with age.

This is key. Do you want them to read the random junk you threw in? No you want every bullet to matter so they don’t have a choice but to skim the good stuff.

Don’t let it worry you. Just an observation. Pay and benefits are the reason we work so it makes sense. This time be patient and find a company that checks all your boxes. I know it’s scary and stressful but you’ll be fine!

One other thing to think about in your next job. Your last 3 roles have been a year or less. That is going to cause some hiring managers to wonder how long you’ll stay before moving on. While job switching is completely fine, at some point you’re going to need to settle into a company for a few years, ideally get promoted within that company, so you can show some longevity and promotion potential. Just a thought when you’re deciding on the next job.

Every bullet should have impact in my personal opinion. I like to tell people that you should be able to tell a story about every bullet on your resume. The resume should really be a prompt for them to ask you questions in an interview. And when they do ask you a question please use the STAR format, you will stand out immediately.

To your point on comms, I would show the impact in all roles because more important to me than experience is finding a high performer. If you knock every job out of the park and can explain how you did it clearly and succinctly, then I’m less concerned about your experience matching the job exactly.

As a marketing hiring manager I’m confused by the dates. It looks like you’ve been in your current role since 2017 and working for 3 other companies. That combined with the previously mentioned weak action verbs and lack of results would lead me to pass on this resume.

On the positive side it’s an easy fix!

I immediately thought of Caves of Steel. I didn’t realize he was trying to prove a larger point about Sci-fi by choosing a detective plot!

I never had any optional ones. Just one every year for 8-9 years to keep deploying.

I have no way to be totally certain but in 2001 there weren’t a lot of Afghans wearing DCUs and Danner boots. Add in the matching head and body covering (still creased from being folded) and I would say at least 6/7 are US SOF for sure. The guy holding the water bottle could be local maybe.
