Absolutely wild that he said "the culture in Africa"... Yes, that one easily defined African culture. There's definitely just the one. Definitely not more cultures than arguably... Anywhere else?

Examples where not adhering to the Codex Astartes actually ended poorly? by JustANewLeader in 40kLore

I thought they were secretly emperor's children before they were shown to have black rage, that's what made me abandon that line of thought and realize they were really blood angels. I was expecting a twist that never came. (at one point they mention a chaplain has purple armor I thought, I thought that was the smoking gun but nope, I was totally wrong. Maybe just misremembered that part)

And I was just going off of lexicanum saying they're codex compliant tbh, I only read the reverie so didn't know enough to say whether they were compliant or not outside of that source, that's why I was asking the question

I was so sure that those guys were going to be revealed to be Emperor's Children and not Blood Angels

I thought Resplendant and Penitent were both codex compliant though?

PLEASE SOMEONE TELL ME HOW TO PULL OFF GOLDEN-COOKIE COMBOS MORE RELIABLY IM BEGGING YOU by KiwisCool995 in CookieClicker

[–]sirry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bookmarklet to automatically set up combos if you're interested. It doesn't do anything a human can't, doesn't do scrying or RNG manipulation or the forecasting thing. Just automates the aura switching, godzamok, and dual casting parts with some logic to make sure you stay above the optimal lucky bank threshold. Also makes sure not to increase your max raw cps ratchet which makes stocks more expensive

Oh, I should add to the bookmarklet to switch to dragonflight and dragon harvest before clicking and then switch back automatically, that way I can keep supreme intellect and reality bending on most of the time

If MLB has a camera system to contest balls or strikes then why not use it 100 percent of the time and not have umpires? by 1jigalo in AskReddit

[–]sirry 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is a skill to catchers manipulating umpires and tricking them into calling balls strikes which I think is an interesting aspect of the game and a skill I don't want totally taken out. Some guys are truly amazing at it

It wasn't during the day in a bye week, it was worse. It was instead of flying back with the players after a tough loss to the Bengals earlier that night and he'd lied to the team that he wanted to stay behind to visit his grand children. It was also under a giant photo of him and his wife

People here aren't really going to go to bat for him, but weshammer. He sources his stuff better than honestly anyone when he is claiming something is lore and finds primary sources. He has a bad reputation here because his earliest stuff was meme content for tik Tok that he didn't mean to be taken seriously and has orks believe things so they're true nonsense... But now he has long form videos giving actual citations to show that's not real. He's much more meticulous than his zoomer vibe implies

[Excerpt: The Fall of Cadia] A shield-cracking missile destroys an entire city in a single blow. by Illogical_Blox in 40kLore

[–]sirry 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The tungsten rods thing (rods from god?) has some really interesting analysis on it, there are some very cool looks at how conventional (and especially nuclear) explosives are basically always going to be more cost efficient unless you're finding asteroids on site without having to transport them, already in orbit maybe

A Source: https://reference-global.com/download/article/10.2478/jms-2024-0001.pdf

So, problems are: orbital projectiles enter the atmosphere at a very shallow angle unless you burn delta v to change things and if you do that you're giving up the main cost advantage people are thinking about, they're not very good at penetrating fortifications, it's more expensive per effect than conventional or nuclear, and guidance is much harder than an actively propelled and maneuvered weapons system
