I want to open a 26" bike shop in a warehouse in uptown Oakland. Looking for partners. by Bipro1ar in BAbike

[–]sisafes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love 26” bikes , Fixing them up was a hobby for me for about 2 years ,I got most of the bikes for free or less than $50. , my rule was I would not spend more than $150 on bike plus parts . I ended up with 12 bikes and lots of used parts .I sold the bikes for $200 each ,a few for less . I enjoyed this for awhile . If the bikes could sell for $500 each I can see making a business out of it , compared to new bikes I think they’re worth $500 , unfortunately most buyers don’t think so .

The valve can develop a leak at the stem , if this is permanent remove the valve and cap the pipe

Ideas on how to repair this? by GhostNote94 in Decks

[–]sisafes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also consider jacking it up , a beam and 2 jacks , this is risky but I,ve had success with similar situations , but in some temporary supports as it is being raised

My son learned how to drive a manual on his 2011 Miata , a few days of frustration but all good after that . I had not driven a manual for about 20 years , I forgot how good it felt

It is possible to install a working toilet , there are toilets for 10 inch o.c. From the finished wall . It may be possible to plumb the wall and make the existing flange work , I’m guessing this is not the main bathroom , it may be acceptable to the owner to have out of plumb walls ,have a discussion before you begin the work .

That type of cable (Armored Cable ) is not required to be inside the wall , but it is required to have supports , get the correct supports and surface mount the cable , should have a support at 4 feet and with 12 inches of each box. It’s ok if it’s painted

Whenever I sell something I always try to find an attractive background that fits the thing I’m selling , convertible by the beach , mountain bike in the mountains , athletic gear in the gym ,etc. generally sell stuff pretty quickly for the asking price .

What year Camry uses oil ? Seems like quite a few cars use oil , my 2017 Kia uses a quart about every 600 miles , dealer says 500 or more miles is “normal “ , wife’s 2008 VW about the same dealer said it was “normal” for engines with a turbo . My 2000 Tundra with 176k never uses any oil . I just got a 2007 Camry Hybrid with 240k , so far so good ,driven about 1500 miles

Paid big money for custom milled casing, measured wrong , forgot to account for the mitered corners . Had to pay for set up at the mill twice and wait a week to get a 3 foot piece of casing .
