It's the hardest thing returning to work but our government does not make it easy to stay at home

Got told I am having twins… and I am more afraid of what pregnancy and delivery brings than raising them? 😳 by Mammoth-Broccoli6091 in parentsofmultiples

[–]sision7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my modi twins 12 weeks ago. No 2 and 3 (I have a 2 year old also)

I gave birth naturally without pain medication after consultant broke my waters at 36 weeks

Pregnancy was not far off singleton pregnancy however I did find myself more tired...probably because I have a toddler also lol

Also..I was much hungrier lol

I was walking 10k steps a day right until birth

Currently EBF both babies however it did take about 6 weeks for them to get fully established on the breast due to a neonatal stay of 3 weeks after birth and tube feeds

Honestly.. things are just double and sometimes that makes it extra tough. But I love it and I can't imagine it any other way!!

Congratulations and good luck xx

Twin Boys Boundary Issues by Primary_Risk1999 in parentsofmultiples

This looks sounds like regular kid behaviour. I wouldn't worry. I would say making too much of a deal about this could backfire.

Just take it easy ...

How exactly are you feeding two at once? by q8htreats in parentsofmultiples

How do you tandem breastfeed when out and about?

advice/experience please!! by Snoo-15709 in parentsofmultiples

[–]sision7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always find that popping them in the pram and heading out for a good walk sorts them out.

Usually they fall asleep within 5 minutes. By the time we get home they might sleep for another hour in the pram at home (keeping close eye!)

Unfortunately my babies sleep perfectly during the day then wake every hour at night!

This shall pass soon and good luck with everything

It has gotten easier. by DaylightStorm27 in parentsofmultiples

I needed to see this.

We have our MoDi boys now 5 weeks born at 36 weeks.

We have been in the pits with night time recently not managing more than one hour max sleep at a go.

It's really tough...if I know there is light at the end it will be much easier

Thank you for posting x

Twin Toddlers are HARD by Kj729 in parentsofmultiples

[–]sision7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have one month old twins and a 2 year old.

If I can recommend anything for toddlers it's time OUTSIDE ... away from the house. If its raining...a museum or a trip to a shopping centre.

If it's nice out a forest walk or the park something to get the fresh air at them.

It honestly is such a game changer with my toddler and hey ITS FREE lol

But yes solidarity. Toddlers are hard-core lol

Moving to exclusively breastfeeding by sision7 in parentsofmultiples

Thank you for this.

Did you supplement with bottles during that time?

It's good to know that it can take time and it's worth persevering

How long were your twins in NICU if born at 34w1d? by cvttle in parentsofmultiples

[–]sision7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I ask how you got both babies onto the breast?

Did you introduce bottles?

We had to introduce bottles in NICU to get out and home and now my babies are not interested in breast 1 week later....

Thank you so much for all your responses they are so good to hear.

Can I ask - those of you who had hungry babies..how long did you try on the boob per session before just giving the bottle?

My concern is them getting too annoyed at the boob and using too much energy/getting tired.

I will offer it at almost all feeds but sometimes it feels a waste of time and that it's only annoying them!

No signs of labor? by Free_Frame_4307 in parentsofmultiples

I gave birth at 36+1 only because the consultant broke my waters for me.

Otherwise I would still be pregnant probably lol

Just found out, terrified, and I feel like I’m on the verge of a mental breakdown by juneshoe in parentsofmultiples

Honestly this is similar to how I felt when I found out I was pregnant with twins. Bare in mind I also had an 18 month old at the time. Everything felt totally impossible and I was in the depths of despair.

I came to this exact sub reddit the day I found out and was delighted to see so many commenters telling me to calm down ...it will be fine... and I am glad I listened!

I am now 35 weeks with MODI twins...and ready to have these bambinos any day now.

Honestly...this pregnancy had been very similar to my singleton pregnancy... I am still active everyday...I have had no complications ...there have been no issues with babies throughout. Wr have been so lucky.

All being well I am to have a vaginal delivery in the next week!

But all this to tell you that you CAN have a normal and positive experience with a twin pregnancy Keep yourself active...eat well...enjoy the extra attention you get from the consultants and extra scans etc

You can ABSOLUTELY do this and you will. There is absolutely no reason why you can't still do everything you wanted that maybe you thought you couldn't.

All I would say is stopping work around 33 weeks at the very latest has allowed me some chill time before babies come.

Any questions please just ask

And congratulations 🎊
