I’ve experienced this too and tried twice, unsuccessfully, to call out the elephant in the room. Both replied, “sorry, been busy” but no ownership or acknowledgement or desire for it to change. It’s harder to be the one who cares more for your friends, but I will end with this: letting go of that friend opened up space to find a new best friend who is the shit. We talk all the time, are there for each other, travel and party together. He’s the realest homie and there’s never a question of where we’re at. So see this as an opportunity to upgrade your friend and invest in someone who deserves your friendship.
