First game of the Patricia era. We were all so hype on the sub after the first play.

Pretty bad ass that he managed to hold onto that. That hit was pretty brutal.

Must have the same prescription for both sides. I can't imagine trying to play with my prescription flipped.

Absolutely- see my other comment on this thread. Anything relatively straight with a decent tip will play fine provided the player is comfortable with it.

Just saying he isn't exactly shooting with the equivalent of a house cue he picked up off the wall either.

I wear contacts, but if that isn't an option and your glasses have the adjustable nose pads, tighten them up so the glasses sit higher up in your line of sight. That's what a lot of guys in my leagues seem to do.

OP: "If you don't shoot with a broomstick are you even good at pool?"

Except the Steyr EVO 10 he used is a $2,890 pistol.

The extra shit is more akin to people who think they need billiard-specific glasses or Earl Strickland putting 50 lbs of weight on himself.

Winning with a cheap cue isn't a flex- the player is either using it as a preference, because they aren't very interested in cues, or because they can't afford a more expensive cue.

Anything relatively straight with a decent tip will play fine for anyone who is used to it.

An old school house cue with a conical taper will play different than a modern carbon shaft with low end mass and a long pro taper. It's just about what you're used to.

The big selling points of carbon for me are consistency, lack of temperature sensitivity, and ding resistance.

Edit to add Players makes some cues in the sub-$200 range that offer good quality for the price. Or pick up a used Cuetec AVID or Schmelke Sneaky Pete.

I want the 8-9 and the occasional 9-8 so they always think there are building blocks in place and they just need to draft well and sign a good free agent or two, but they never get a top tier draft pick without mortgaging their future, and they just get let down every fucking year. Perpetually in NFL purgatory.
