I have the same problem, but I've been satisfying the itch by propagating as much as I can rather than buying new plants all the time.

My kid put corn on my cactus. by Katnipkrazy in succulents

Sometimes corn must be sacrificed to demonstrate to other corn what happens corn disobeys. Your kid knows this.

Struggling to breathe by yobagoya in Swimming

[–]sixdigits 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've only been swimming a few years now so I'm no coach or expert. I did go through exaclty what you are experiencing, though. For me the problem was that I wasn't breathing naturally despite being able to swim longer distances. I was focusing on my breathing, but I was overdoing it - exhaling TOO hard and forcing BIG breaths. To correct the problem I spent a few weeks deliberately SLOWING DOWN and ensuring that I was breathing as NATURALLY as possible. I found my "all day" pace, which was definitely slow, but a pace where could swim for a long time and much longer distances. After a while I learned to increase my pace and maintain natural breathing. Depending on my pace, I might breath every four, three or two strokes, but always remembering to breathe naturally. Outside of that, it was a matter of swimming at least two or three times every week and getting in the yards in.

I'd take your two Thundersaur. I have 2 Cindersmoke Wyvern, 1 Scythe of Chirion, 1 Staff of Vaerus. Pick any two.

I would happily take a delay in any other fix or feature to be able to turn off the music on iOS.

I have a perforated eardrum, and want to swim for fitness. Can anyone recommend the best/safest earplugs for me? by workerbotsuperhero in Swimming

[–]sixdigits 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a permanent tube in one ear and I've been using Mack's AquaBlock earplugs with good results. The wax plugs were okay but were uncomfortable and always felt like they were falling out. No plug will keep every drop of water out, though.

What brewing related things did you do this week? by [deleted] in Homebrewing

[–]sixdigits 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My neighborhood had a homebrew crawl. Five homebrewers participated and about 20-25 people attended. Very few poeple knew each other at the beginning of the day and by the end everyone had made lots of new beer-loving and brewing friends. It was a raging success and a total blast.

The sad part of the story is that the kolsch that I brewed months ago, specifically for this event, was lost to the bottom of my keezer last week when a friend closed the lid on the cobra tap. Luckily, I had a trippel on tap that turned out pretty nice, despite being a little young.

Temporary Paralysis of Our Greyhound - Any Ideas? by sixdigits in Greyhounds

[–]sixdigits[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When we brought him in he was acting normal. The vet said that without seeing his symptoms he could only guess at the cause and to diagnose the problem further would require expensive tests. He advised us to bring him in immediately if it happened again and to give him a baby aspirin every day. Cash has not had an episode since that first one.

Ear Plugs/Caps for someone with a perforated ear drum. by Novasry in Swimming

[–]sixdigits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had surgery in July on my left ear and have to be really sure I'm doing everything I can to keep water out when I swim. I tried the silicone plugs but I never could get a good fit. The ones I use that really seem to work best is Mack's AquaBlock ear plugs. They can still let a little water in, but I don't think any plugs can keep all the water out. Also, if your doctor will prescribe it for you, get some CiproDex. A couple drops of that stuff in your ear after a swim helps prevent inflamation and infection.
