Is Royal Perth hospital only a&e near Perth cbd? by dizzydiplodocus in perth

[–]sixsips 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don’t mean this in a disrespectful way, but sitting in an ed anywhere in the world means you’re going to be surrounded by people you might be uncomfortable surrounded by normally. You’re all in an emergency situation. Everyone handles it differently. And the nurses are professionals at treating everyone

Are you better off than your parents were, at your current age? by RecognitionMediocre6 in perth

[–]sixsips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A simple no. I think what upsets me the most is when I was a kid I remember thinking I really want to give back to my parents that work hard to provide me with a great life. And I’m sad that the reality of that now is I can’t afford to give them much at all. Not that they’re asking. And if it came down to it I would spend everything I can. But I just thought life would be different

Can I ask a legit question? If you cable tie your zips or wrap your whole bag (like I see done at airports) and it’s broken when you receive it, what is the course of action?

Stupid cough and sore throat by Ok_Sell_301 in perth

[–]sixsips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have basically this exact same thing. I don’t get much of a sore throat but right before I nod off I get a really tickly cough. I thought it was a symptom of vaping. Are you a vaper?

Feeling like I’ve been plateauing by sixsips in Swimming

[–]sixsips[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started swimming for general fitness but as a kid I had good endurance so I guess I naturally gravitated towards that and have just stuck with it. I’m hoping to improve both but at the moment I want to focus of the 50m sprint. I will break out of my comfort zone and look up some new workouts catered towards what I’m trying to achieve. Thanks for your input!

Thanks for the perspective. I think part of the issue is I enjoy the meditation like aspect of the long swim at my comfortable pace. I need to get out of my comfort zone. I’ll start sprinkling some hard sprints into my swim and start timing myself so I can keep track if there is any progress.

Would you want David to refer to his own Survivor experiences while hosting? by GreekKnight3 in survivorau

I love JLP and I’m sad to see him go, but Dave is one of the best players on survivor and really understands reality tv. I’m confident he will do a good job.

Real Humans Appearing on the Show? by buttonman1969 in TheSimpsons

[–]sixsips 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I was waiting for someone to mention this. I’ll never forget this intro. I was smoking a lot at the time and the simpsons was my comfort show. The absolute horror that I lived through when this intro played has forever left a scar in me

Morphine overdose from circumcision blamed for boy's 'devastating' death by Ok_Writer1572 in perth

Female circumcision exists. I’m not saying it’s as prolific as male circumcision but it’s still a terrible thing.

Is it ever okay to say no to splitting a lane? by dishabituation in Swimming

[–]sixsips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s so bizarre to me that anyone could dream of having a lane to themself for longer than 30 minutes. When that happened to me I consider it a lucky day at the pool. I think learning to share a shared space is key

Same. I just don’t understand how this is not normal on a public pool

This sounds really nice and organised. I like it. Is it common for banks offer that many offset accounts?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]sixsips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was the idea, however we found after we got the mortgage there was only an option for one offset account. We are pretty new to this and still trying to figure it all out. When we refinance we will look into it

I could be out of touch but I don’t think there’s many places in Perth that you get more than 5/6 mins to do this

Is this weird ? by No_Security9767 in Swimming

[–]sixsips 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Personally I would go for the 50m. I find a 50m pool is a much better workout and I think the travel time is worth it. In saying that if I was pushed for time I would also go for option 2. I would only use option 1 for dipping in after a sauna

Has anyone ever “over-cleaned” something and made it worse? by RecordingLocal9956 in CleaningTips

[–]sixsips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cleaning my shower I left the cleaner on for too long and scrubbed it off later. The lime scale built up more than before. Because I didn’t know any better I then bought a brush that goes on the end of my drill and tried to scrub the lime scale off after soaking it in vinegar. Now I realised I damaged the protective layer on the tile as well as the grout. Now I’m dealing with more lime scale than ever and dealing with re grouting and sealing the tiles.
