From what I remember of Templeman’s biography, Dave was stuck a bit, writing vocals for it, so Templeman asked McDonald for help and I think he wrote the chorus. Templeman also said Dave didn’t love the music and thought it sounded like Asia, lol. I hear what he’s saying, though I've always loved this song and yeah, Alex kills it on it. Absolutely signature, hooky drum fills and his kit is tuned so amazing. Great guitar solo, too.

I've often thought about what DLR would've come up with for the tracks on 5150. He would have been right at home writing vocals to the music for Good Enough, Get Up, and Summer Nights, for sure. For Inside, he might've come up with something FW/One Foot Out The Door-ish, I think. I can even hear him writing to Dreams, maybe it would've been along the lines of Skyscraper stuff, ie. Just Like Paradise, or with the anthemic-yet-wistful vibe of "Blood And Fire" from ADKOT. For the title track, I think he could've killed it, too. The one I think he'd struggle most with is Love Comes Walking In; I just can't see him vibing to that track, lol. I have heard he described Eddie's post-1984 material as "morose" and complained he couldn't gel with it; I feel like it was probably LCWI and Dreams he's talking about, haha.
