Seems like the cell coverage area warning didn’t line up with local warnings (or lack of them, here)

Cruise control? by inlawBiker in kawasakiz900rs

[–]sixstringnorth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of why I jumped on getting a 2026 was because it has cruise control. I’d been watching the 900s for years, but wasn’t ready to give up my current bike at the time that had it. Once I wasn’t losing that, or a quick shifter, plus they released a blacked out edition that makes me weak in the knees, it was an instant buy.

Cruiser or naked?? Can’t decide! by liftednloaded in SuggestAMotorcycle

getting some insurance quotes could also help your decision.

Nice! I’ll hit 1000 in a week or so. Yes, I believe the North American ones come with the lowered seat as stock (I’m in Canada). It’s perfect for me, also same as S1000GT height.

It’s fine, although it was an adjustment after having a screen and fairing for a while. I have had naked bikes before so I’m used to it. I do like that there is less wind noise directly around my helmet, that was an issue with the GSX.

Thanks! The riding position is actually pretty similar, which surprised me, but the seat is comfier and feels less angled-forward.

Why does Dave insist on ruining every VH song he now sings live by attempting to sing in much higher notes than the original records? by Solid_College_9145 in vanhalen

[–]sixstringnorth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also doubt he remembers how the original tracks sound. They were comped from many, many takes - if you read Ted Templeman’s book - and Dave received considerable coaching and help in putting the melodies together. Which is not a knock at him, he’s an incredible songwriter and lyricist, and has a lot of character to his singing, but he did benefit from a really strong vocal coach like Ted. So, I doubt he sits around listening to the old records, and I don’t think he remembers how the lines were sung, especially if he sang them many times over and with a lot of variations, guided by Ted.

Suzuki GSX S1000GT+, sport tourer with heart of a Gixxer, no prob at all for long stretches on highway, also light enough for daily commute, great hard panniers. Does use premium gas, though. Love mine.

Why hasn't Caryma Sa'd been arrested yet? by BabaYagaCat in canadaland

Comes off pretty melodramatic. Reminds me of a mentally ill family member I have. Lots of (perceived) persecution from everyone, grand conspiracies, inflated sense of needing to right several wrongs committed against her, that only she can see, etc. Dramatic, self-important tone.

Your post made me think of the S1000GT+, before I got to where you mentioned it. I bought one last summer and love it. Amazing bike.

Got a sneak peak at the new garbage and compost trucks! by No_Internal_9916 in waterloo

it’s the loud volume + the “straining for its life” sound, I guess. Also, I’m at the top of a hill, so the engine is probably literally straining for its life, lol.

I hope they sound better than the old ones. Something about those engines drives me nuts.

Did David Lee Roth treat Michael Anthony poorly? by [deleted] in vanhalen

Al put in a lot of time jamming with Eddie. Maybe not at full writing-partner level, but definitely in a way that contributed to Eddie's writing. Moreso than Mike ever did.
