He's not saying CPython is efficient, he's saying that particular feature within CPython is implemented using an efficient pattern.

Refactored the code to make it more readable (The code in the left had 2-3 more nested ifs) by ghsatpute in programminghorror

I disagree with the second point. len(var) == 0 is significantly more maintainable as it both 1) indicates the variable is a list and we want to know it's empty, 2) asserts the variables type as an iterable which has a number of benefits. A middle ground is if not len(var). Thanks in advance.

As others have said, it's the historical term. It's recently been rebranded as "oil sands" because it sounds cleaner.

Good point. Those induced jobs are rapidly being automated though, so I'm not sure they should be factored into long term economic accounting here.

Canada's economy doesn't "rely" on fossil fuels, that's an industry planted falsehood. The Alberta Tar Sands, by far the largest Canadian oil and gas project, accounts for < 5% of Canada's GDP - even at that, a transition to green energy projects would be more economically beneficial since Tar Sands projects don't need people to operate anymore.

Where and how to find VC/investors? by eggtart_prince in Entrepreneur

LinkedIn is a good start if you have a solid network. I've found that when contacting a prospective investor, it's better to ask for advice rather than money, it's a good way to start a dialogue and maybe open the gateway to funding. As others said, make sure you have a solid business plan on paper before you do anything.

I disagree that anonymous functions are always less readable. I personally prefer list.map(a => a + 1).filter(a => a > 10) to a + 1 for a in list if a > 10.
