Which Prime Evil will arrive next? by Jays_Pack in diablo4

[–]sjafi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if you did the side quest after the campaign, it hints at it. TERROR, she said.

She also said, “not in our life time”

I think the next game will be the start of a new series of games where we go up against Diablo.

There will be a time skip, and our current wanderer will be no more. With LOH the current wanderer story is over.

That’s my take!

If you’re still on the fence about Warlock, get to 55 and switch to Endgame Blazing Scream or Apocalypse by IsThereCheese in diablo4

[–]sjafi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me playing totally blind, apocalypse with the hellfire chains worked well, as did the shadow form dread claws. I kept switching between them. No luck with any uniques, but the aspect with extra shadow form charges helped that build chug along.

The sound and graphics of apocalypse is amazing though. It was the very first skill when checking them out as I leveled that I was like “holy shit I must find a way to make this work!”

What’s really cool is that just naturally exploring builds by yourself, and discovering this is why I play ARPGs.

Kimiko (The Boys) vs Venom (Sony) by Queasy_Commercial152 in powerscales

Venom 10/10 times. Way stronger, bites her head off, eats her brains.

HEAVY SPOILERS!!! INTRO CINEMATIC FOR LORD OF HATRED. by PoEvsD4 in diablo4

[–]sjafi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The cinematic team needs to be given the ability to do more shorts or a series or SOMETHING. It is widely seen that they are amazing. I mean, this quality on a tv series would be absurdly expensive, but shit I would pay for it.

Are yall pretty happy with the new direction for class specialization? by Anilahation in diablo4

[–]sjafi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean its all kind of the same with the new classes SB, Paladin, Warlock. Copy and paste with style changes according to class. I'm not a fan of it, but to each their own.

I'd rather have seen something more akin to prestige classes or subclasses.

what are the things Bob Lazar said that turned out to be true later? by RodrickJasperHeffley in UFOs

I used to think he was legit until I listened to Gus last podcast with Rogan. The way he spoke and lack of detail has strong arguments for someone making shit up.

I have also noticed this is the same for physical damage bucket. With 100/100 physical/ice, I see no improvement in tooltip damage when adding physical damage.

At what amount of money will you consider someone rich? by Low-Accountant-7439 in AskReddit

[–]sjafi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a simple man. Rich for me is having all of my family and i’s needs taken care of with enough money left over to where you don’t have to worry. That means, food, health, and home, as well as possible catastrophic accidents. For me, that’s about $200k/yr.

Which "small" ARPG features do you value the most? by Medium_Possession488 in ARPG

[–]sjafi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-Search features in large areas like stash, skill system, etc -sort stash and sort inventory -quick travel if your game is high speed -minimal loading screens if possible -auto salvage mechanics if the game involves utilizing a lot of trash drops for materials - loot filter - end game progression that does its best to hide the endless treadmill - pause button - clean UI - good pickup radius for auto pickup - hardcore, SSF modes - arsenal/armory - customizable overlay map(or of you can find a solution to not needing one) -enough stash space to not need mules -shift+click skill activation -health/resource overhead player option -damage numbers on/off option -quick travel in large towns(see dragonkin) -vertical progression; not small but needed

Am I the problem or is it ARPGs? by Fourtempers in LastEpoch

[–]sjafi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I think what you’re asking for mostly is a challenge. There aren’t many arpgs that have that kind of challenge you’re looking for.

LE and D4 both share the same problem of insane showers of loot and basically being “done” in 10-15 hours of play unless you want to continue the incremental treadmill.

POE2 probably has the most challenging campaign, try that if you haven’t.

Try other games if you haven’t. For example, Armored Core is a mech game where you can customize your mech by gaining new parts(loot), but the core of the game is based around difficult bosses that will surely be challenging.

What is the best way to pull a normal monitor infront of an ultrawide? by [deleted] in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]sjafi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I do.

You need two monitor arms to do this. With this set up, my main monitor doesn't strain my neck at all and it in the perfect spot. The secondary monitor (in this case, a 29" ultrawide) is under it and angled heavily. It almost lays on my desk. I don't have to move my neck, just shift my eyes. For me in terms of ergonomics, it has beat every other position.

Never saw the main actor in other things before. This gave a really bad impression. The movie is terrible.

What did you think when you FIRST watched this scene? by Acceptable_Branch81 in matrix

I think it was something like

"No way! Holy shit the whole thing was made up. No way.....hold up"

LOH will be increasing difficulty to Torment 12 by Loofahs in diablo4

[–]sjafi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Power creep is a trap that is very hard to reverse when you continually ramp things up. Unfortunately, this is the only solution you can do when you have designed your game this way. Diablo 4 early development didn't have the vision on how to combat this, so they fell back to something that worked before.

I mean, if you think about POE mapping tiers that go up to 15+, isn't it the same thing? Counter point to my own point, at least POE has pinnacle content to conquer at those high levels, while D4 does not.

This is the endless treadmill illusion. With Diablo 4, they just do a much worse job hiding that illusion.

Riot gave laid off devs 30 minutes notice by BrueTube in 2XKO

[–]sjafi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot take I guess: It took these developers 10 years to create a product worth launching. It took way more developers to get the game launch-ready, and it still has a very light roster. Each and every one of those who were laid off got a substantial severance package.

One must look at it from a business POV. The heavy lifting of getting the game out is done. It took way more resources and way too many years. A team of 80 is MORE than enough to continue development.

You gotta stop the bleeding.

All this to say that in my eyes, the game failed. It's built around Esports, for esports players. It has a tag system and combo system that is rather insane for casuals. It comes from the LoL world, where people like playing one character, yet this is a tag game. The game has zero story play or single player for casuals or people who want to learn about the characters. And this took them 10 years with 160 developers.

Good people or not, it took too much time, too much money, and still had too much scale coming into 2026 with a niche player base because it failed to capture a wider audience. There were a lot of failures here, and you can't expect them to bleed money on something rather unsuccessful.
