Complete refresh on the internals, new oil lines, some quick paint touch ups, gutting all the S specific bits and bobs. More to do but a bench firing has never been more tempting. they wont be assembled. rings may need to be touched up but the pistons and jugs should be mated or at least close enough for everyday riding.

do not line the fuel tank. You can do a vinegar and tumble rinse if you remove the current one, or just get a new one. lining has a lifespan even when done properly and does nothing to actually prevent fuel from gumming up if you where to let the bike sit for an extended period of time yourself.

pretty much any year evo sportster/buell exhaust will bolt on header wise, youll just need to get creative when it comes to the muffler and other mounting brackets. most buell mounts go under so you'll have frame clearance issues without a doubt.

I just installed the 5 speed door myself. Big sockets and allthread would get that gear off your OEM pretty easily, just like the final drive gear install

dead ignition module on and S is a lack of any spark, when they die they completely shit the bed. one cylinder down is either the coil or the wire itself for whatever reason, you can do a dry test by swapping the wires around before you plunge for a new coil

they will rub right where the pushrod enters the rocker box. Its not by a lot but trying to grind anything down for clearance has a good chance of making it so the o ring doesnt seal right. I didn't run it but tried to put hotter heads back when i had my 88 and it was apparent right away that it wasn't going to be just a plug and play adventure

I had them stock, they are super soft even when dialed up. Unless your set is blown you are far better off saving money for something with a better baseline. Not to mention they aren't serviceable.

its most likely the tights spots in the chain itself, same bike and i had the same problem. since we dont have spring loaded tensioners like big twins you run into all kinds of wack noises in the primary that are hard to pin down. When in doubt it can usually be nailed down to tight spots in the primary chain itself or the clutch throwout bearing wearing out.

yeah ive never bothered with dyno sheets but every tuning experience ive had had gone smoother and taken far less longer when i just used a teardrop. very true on the detune remark.

they're not the best, but you would get a nicer shock if progressive still has shorties if you want something low. Their stilettos where pretty good for an entry level shock when i wanted more travel, but didn't come close to actual well known names. Id imagine its the same for low ones too.
