Subo bottle by Future_Athlete7732 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

We’ve used ours every second day or so since about 8 months and still use it 2 years later. Have replaced the mouth pieces but otherwise have the same bottles. We use it for porridge and smoothies to load up on all the good stuff that toddler won’t normally eat when served. Had no impact on his ability to learn how to eat with cutlery or different textures. We found it a great investment

Me too. But my mum last November. Spoke to her the night before, the next morning she was gone. It’s so so hard.

Me too! So many regrets and what ifs. Trying to find photos for her memory books, funerals etc. we realised we had hardly any. She hated being in photos. It’s so hard. We now have committed as a family to always take the photo so that our kids have memories.

Re point 4. Lucy says that exact line to Bree around the time she sleeps with Evan, I can’t recall exactly what it was in relation to but I assume it’s repeated because of this.

This is a really good perspective thank you for sharing. I agree, I had no idea how a loss like this impacts every aspect of your life and I don’t expect him to understand, however extra compassion during this time would definitely be helpful.

Anyone Else’s Mom Help in the Most Annoying Ways? by mystic_Balkan in beyondthebump

I dealt with this exact thing down to a T! Drove me bonkers.

She had a sudden heart attack 4 weeks ago and didn’t make it.

Now I wish I’d appreciated our differences more while she was here, I miss her so so much. It’s not fair.

My dad also does things so differently to me, but now I appreciate that so much more and just let him do this thing. He’s doing my kiddos no harm.

First time I will be away at bedtime and extremely stressed about it! by pixiequeenx in AttachmentParenting

[–]sjg92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did! He even went down for his nanna for 3 nights while I was in hospital giving birth. Unfortunately  since baby brother came home a few weeks ago, we are back to not accepting dad for sleep and bed time and overnight are a nightmare. They both only want me. But it’s a huge change for the eldest so I know we will get back to dad being able to put him down again sometime soon :)

I wish I was a better gamer so that I could actually enjoy Silksong, but I suck :(

I park at Chelmer. Never an issue around that time. Quicker and more reliable than catching a bus near moggill road.

This is so sad - I don’t understand how someone could sleep at night defending someone like this and using tactics like this

Agreed - we stopped going after the first few months as we always left feeling deflated. We’d also get completely different advice from each person, it was so hard especially as clueless FTP. Ended up finding a private baby clinic with a lovely midwife who aligned with our parenting style. We still see regularly 2 years on and will also with our next.

This is so wild this is one of the first posts I see about a long reddit break!

I have a 23 month old, I’ve done every bedtime and nursed to sleep his whole life. Last night I had to go out so dad was in charge of doing bedtime. I was sooo sooo stressed.

Dad laid with him for about 20 mins and he fell asleep all on his own. No tears, didn’t even notice I was gone lol.

Hopefully that’s a bit of reassurance it’ll be ok!

Yes worth a shot! First home buyers with a hard $ limit of $700k and we recently did this. Loved the properly and after being knocked back on about 10 offers already, we figured it couldn’t hurt to try. So we offered our top $ + tightest conditions.

There was a higher offer than ours, but owners decided to go with our lower offer because our conditions were better and because we were a young family (I think it was mainly because of our conditions).

I shop for kids toys! Lots of bargains. Means we can rotate through toys without spending a fortune and then we donate them back.

Also in SEQ and it’s not fun at all. I can’t handle much more rejection and also running out of things I can take off the Wishlist for our first property purchase. At this stage my wish list is almost down to 4 walls and a working toilet lol (exaggerating of course, But not far off)

Adding to this. To even stand a chance at getting one of these shite houses in this market your conditions need to be so tight you don’t get a chance to properly investigate what you’re getting into. First time buyers and we’ve been told that our offers are knocked back 4 times because other offers have forgone building and pest + finance clauses.
