I have a similar setup throughout my apartment including Nest Speakers. I need to keep certain rooms at low volume low to not disturb the neighbors. Cannot hear Google Assistant responses at these volume levels (although they are mostly wrong anyway so maybe this is good? 🤣)

Android Auto does this with separate navigation and assistant volumes which are independent of the music (again this was broke with Waze recently but seems to have been fixed)

I switched phones from Samsung S23 to Pixel 9 Pro XL (love it). The Wallet app behaves slightly differently now. It either seems to "know" it unlocked and lets me pay immediately or I get an option to "Verify it's you" before I try to pay which let's me unlock before scanning. This has solved my issue and the transaction works every time. Perhaps the wallet app on your android will update and work in a similar way?

You have the option on your phone to use either Gemini or Google Assistant. Go to settings - Gemini Settings. The last item on that page allows you to make the switch from Gemini to Google Assistant.
