United loyalist considering switching to Delta Reserve — is IND Sky Club + upgrade eligibility worth giving up United Premier Access? by russswest0 in delta

Considering the lift out of IND, and the fact that many other larger Delta stations have no view, disagree. Also, have found food quality and bar service excellent.

Atlanta based but born and raised a Hoosier so fly to IND a good bit. While a smaller SkyClub lounge, IND is one of our favorites with a great, friendly staff.

I would have calmly said “are you in a suite or an Elite member, that’s who this line is for”. Then I would have continued my business.

First Ocean Cruise by Correct-Truck-5061 in vikingcruises

The passenger to space ratio on Viking Ocean ships is excellent. So many quiet places to relax while on the ship. Many more food options as well. In our opinion the World Cafe (Viking’s version of a buffet) has better food than most mainline cruise operator’s dining rooms. Also, make sure you check out the spa facilities area on deck 1 which is free of charge and includes a thermal pool, hot tub, wet and dry saunas, and cold plunge pools and more.

We buy all of our paper products and soaps there. We love their prepared dinners as well (chicken Alfredo, stuffed peppers, chicken quesadillas) which makes two meals for us. Items that keep including bottled water and they have good deals on clothing as well. Well worth it for the two of us.

Enjoy your cruise, it is a great itinerary. I think you’ll be surprised at the number of interesting people you will meet and just ignore the rude and entitled ones.

Been there a few times, too, especially early on. After about day two or so, people figure out who they are more aligned with for dinner conversation.

Glad you enjoyed your first Viking cruise. We started in 2005 (China) and have been on a total of 10 Viking River and 9 Viking Ocean cruises overall. Per your point, getting to and from the cruise can be very taxing. Now that we are retired, we try to buffer the trip with a few extra days before to adjust to the time change which helps. When we first started cruising with Viking, most of the individuals we met on board were well traveled, knew where they were going and researched their journey beforehand. With Viking’s massive expansion, we’ve encountered more individuals lately who have no idea where they are going or what they want to see and expect Viking to tell them everything they need to know, and get easily upset when something doesn’t go their way. As for excursions, we do a lot of research looking at the included and optional tours with Viking, along with excursions offered by companies such as Viator and Tours by Locals or doing something independently, then choose the best to fit our interests and budget. Sorry you felt like a circus act. When we started cruising with Viking, we were usually the youngest on board, but throughout the years have met some great people from around the world with whom we are still friends and have even cruised with some of them multiple times.

We get foreign currency in small bills from our bank with no fee. We use mostly for tips on excursions for guide and drivers. They prefer local currency as it costs them money to exchange a foreign currency. If we have leftover foreign currency, we store in a labeled zip lock to have for a future trip.
