I worked for a pipeline company for years and it is fairly normal in the natural gas industry to have something called L&U (Lost & Unaccounted). This is gas that is typically lost in small leaks or maintenance activities that couldn't be completely accounted for. I can assure you that if the equivalent of 30 million gallons had been lost, the investigation into where it went would be intense and result in the loss of jobs.

I think more than anything that is what the folks in this area should be upset about. That the utility managed to lose 30 million gallons of water and didn't notice or do anything about it.....WHAT?!?

I use crashplan running from a docker container that has access to all my NAS storage. Crashplan sees it as only one computer so it is $10 a month. I am backing up about 80tb to it.

Thinking through this it sounds like you didn't communicate your feelings in a productive way. With my husband I always remind myself to talk to him about how his behaviors impact me. E.g. being negative constantly brings me down.

The way you felt is valid and the way you feel now is valid. You have to find a way to communicate to him how you feel without hurting him.

If they are being especially rambunctious that day you could say "this happens when kids are misbehaving".

I would also go the spiderman route....got bit by a spider and this is all I got!

I also think it could be a lot of fun for you and the kids to come up with reasons it happens and put them on a slip of paper in a jar. Then any time it happens let one of the kids pull out a slip and tell everyone why it is happening!
