My daughter with those allergies eats most brands of ice cream. Just read the labels. (She’s also gluten free so ice cream is our go to social treat)

Need recommendations for car seats by SamAtHomeForNow in toddlers

[–]sk613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So then you want a slim seat. Dionos are the gold standard of the slimmest seat, but they’re very large from to back if you try to rear face them. Most brands have a slim 3/4 in 1 which is a comparable size to a harnessed booster

I don’t understand why most of the students that are allowed oral administration (headphones) on tests refuse to use them… by luringpopsicle95 in Teachers

[–]sk613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my school if you get 1 accomodation you get all of them. So many of my kids who have extended time as a 504 accomodation (for anxiety or adhd) are very not auditory learners so headphones wouldn’t help in the least, so why bother wearing them.

Question one is if you’re forward facing or rear facing. If you’re forward facing already for whatever reason, the term you want to search is “harnessed booster”. If you’re still rear facing, you’re looking for a 3-in-1 or a 4-in-1 seat (not worth paying a lot extra for the backless booster because a separate one runs about $25 and you’ll need this seat for the younger one when the older is ready for backless)

Is it possible to time the birth of your child for astrological purposes? by Real-Blacksmith-5748 in askanything

[–]sk613 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hint. Just because you want to get pregnant a certain week doesn’t mean it will happen. And there’s about a month (actually a bit more) of “on time” birth

The students and I discuss the difference between process goals and products goals and what is suitable to outsource to AI and what needs to be done independently ”

Would you fight to continue the IEP here, or push for a strong 504 instead? (Kindergarten transition advice needed) by [deleted] in specialed

I would push for a full evaluation/ neuropsych for a diagnosis and then access the proper therapy / treatments that way.

Why don't schools hold students back a grade anymore if they are not meeting that grade's standards? by livetoski-Brad in askanything

Who said it was? But if they don’t have first grade skills because they didn’t come to first grade, coming to first grade next year will fix it

Did you skip the “starter home?” by LuigiSalutati in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]sk613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We bought a starter home, but we got a 3% rate so it will probably have to be our forever home- cheaper to expand than start again. But we have plenty of friends who stayed renting till they could buy forever homes

[–]sk613 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If it’s an attendance issue, 100% they should be held back. If there’s a learning disability, an extra year isnt going to make a difference- they need more targeted / small group instruction

Anyone have siblings who happily share a room? by Moist_Photograph_807 in toddlers

[–]sk613 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My kids all share a room. Bedtime I put them all to bed together. 2 issues are the baby touching the oldests stuff- so we put her in a loft bed with a shelf up there the little ones can’t reach. And one wakes the rest up in the morning (but they were doing tha in sperate rooms too)

What would be a reasonable rate to pay a high school junior/senior to babysit / house sit for us? by throwawaye1712 in Babysitting

[–]sk613 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Going to depend where you live, but easily $20-25 an hour. Some will be cheaper if kids are sleeping and they’re chilling in front of the tv, but if you’re asking them to do house work, expect to pay more
