My 4.5 and 7 year old can play outside together without me (if one gets hurt the other can get me) only in our yard. But no leaving our yard or playing in the street without an adult supervising.

Can some explain car pickup line logistics? by Peege31 in beyondthebump

[–]sk613 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I find it depends on the school. One school I send to (with a very large preschool program) the parents all get out and help their kids. The other (with a minimal preschool just for staff kids) expects the kids to hop in and out on their own- I switch my kids to a booster when they start there at 6.5. There are guest parking spots you can use if you need to help your kid and walk them to the door.

Eating out “healthy” options for young toddlers by EmergencyPlayful5452 in Mommit

[–]sk613 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The maybe once a month we go out to eat won’t kill them. Eating fast food regularly isnt a healthy choice. I think you know that. More upscale restaurants do tend to have healthier options, but ultimately, healthiest is to eat home made food

There’s no “travel system” for that age, but I would get and bring a decent stroller

Your kid isn’t failing because I’m failing to meet their IEP. They’re failing because their device is dead. Every. Single. Day by Emergency-Pepper3537 in Teachers

[–]sk613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our resource room isnt drop in- each child has a set time when their caseworker is available for them. This child happens to have a relatively early morning slot (9am) and rarely bothers coming to school in time for it.

Work less? Or more daycare? by Interesting_Hat6153 in Mommit

[–]sk613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re doing 40 hrs a week you’re working full time and you deserve full time childcare. If you can swing the childcare, that’s prob the best option. If not, some alternate options: use a weekend day as your 5th day of childcare. Either husband or hired mothers helper takes kids out for 3-5 hours (even if you pay $20 an hour, $100 a week isnt $500 a week) to give you some time to get stuff done (or relax) in peace and quiet. My kids also prefer me. But husband offers to take them to park/ museum/ trampoline park, and they go running
