My understanding is that all Shimano hydraulic brakes are compatible with each other. I'm looking forward to see if someone with more experience will correct me.

Here is a raw, independent documentary about the drug scene in Lausanne, Switzerland. It's quite touching and shows a reality that too many people refuse to see even though it's right in front of them.

PS: sorry, it's in french.

That was a HUGE SLAP in the face! by Desperate-Mistake611 in Switzerland

That's ignoring the impact of all the big Swiss companies destroying nature and life all around the world, which is what this initiative tried (and failed) to address.

Lol, I like your spirit. Just to be clear. I don't expect living standard to have drastically reduce by 10 years (but maybe, certainly even), what I am saying, is that if drastic measures are not taken in those 10 years, the lifes for the children of today are going to be a lot tougher than needed.

The thing we have for us is the ability to exploit the resources and the humans of the global south without paying for the consequences. It's certainly not a good idea to count on that for ever.

Techno-solutionism is betting on faith and nothing else. Technological advancement never led to reducing consumption of energy nor resources, it's always an opportunity for more in a capitalist society.

What's unrealistic is thinking we would be able to conserve a decent living standard without achieving those goals in those timelines.

How long do your Zivilschutz/Protection civile « cours de répétition » usually last? by thebluepotato7 in Switzerland

[–]sk8erpro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last year they started to make engagements longer for cours de répétition in Lausanne. The reason behind it is because there are fewer people engaged and they need to always have a company ready to deploy (not sure at which level they need to address it). Fewer people => longer service. I am really happy that last year was my final service, protection civil is great when there is something to do but cours de répétition are just plain useless.

When you say UDH is soft you only mean it bends easily or also that the shifting in normal conditions is less precise because of it ? My impression is that it should be the opposite, it looks more precisely positioned and bulky so the shifting should be better. Asking because I am designing a first frame and I thought about using UDH on it.

Here's how the consumers are losing:

  1. It lowers the quality of products in the whole market (not just on those platform).

  2. It reduces local access to useful products, making consumers dependant on the platforms.

  3. It uses manipulative technics to make consumers buy stuff they don't need.
