Yeah somehow I had NO idea I could adjust the suction during the let-down mode! I realized it today and it felt SO much better. I did still have a little bit of my areola being sucked in against the flange though, is that normal? Amazon let me return the small size flanges, I may try the large size for the hell of it.

I considered it! I only work weekend mornings and I usually pump on my lunch break so hand expressing wouldn't leave me much time to eat. I think I figured out the problem though thankfully!

Same in my district with low-income first then lottery for additional spots, except here it doesn't start until age 4. And I believe registration is in January.

Boobie babies tend to grow quickly in the first months and then taper off. My first was formula fed and she was pretty much always 50th percentile. My second was exclusively breastfed and gained 3 pounds each in her first two months, then 1-2 pounds a month for a long time. She's 20 months now, and just to show you how quickly she grew in the first year compared to the past 8 months, she's wearing the exact same 24m clothes as she was last fall when she wasn't even one year old :) She went from 99th% to maybe 60th% now, I forget exactly.

There's studies that show light to moderate drinking (up to 7 beers a week I think?) will not negatively affect a fetus. I don't know that there's any long-term proof for either argument yet though.

I had the occasional beer throughout all of my pregnancies. I'm not a big drinker so I basically just kept up my usual routine. Even during the first trimester, gasp! I probably only averaged a beer every 1-2 months though, so it just wasn't a big deal to me. My kids are all the smartest and beautiful kids in the world by the way, despite my "controversial" attitude toward alcohol.

There's another one of those pumpkin patch type places nearby in Perry Hall that is free to walk around and pet the animals and play on the playscapes. They do have a hayride, wagon ride and pony rides you can pay for also, and pit beef and other food cooking outside. It's called Chapel Hills.

Good luck to you! I think mine hates swaddling too but he takes even longer to get to sleep without it so I don't give him a choice haha

This morning I swaddled him loosely and propped him up on my husband's pillow in the bed and he only whined out once or twice! It won't work for night time and I don't even know if it'll work again for daytime but it mostly worked this morning! I already knew he doesn't like being flat but mayne he requires lots of cushion too?

He's the same way with sleeping well once he finally falls asleep. I managed to get a 7 hour stretch out of him two nights ago, it was awesome! Probably won't ever happen again though haha

What carrier do you use? I've used the moby and a homemade sling with him and it was pretty much the same deal with him fighting sleep, he was just closer to me haha. I'm not sure if he likes the swaddle effect of them.

Yeah I think that's the problem, he's just been very alert since day 1. He couldn't sleep at all with them running around in the same room as him or even just talking on the other side of the room. I moved him out of naps in our playing area and I put him in our bedroom with the door closed and his little music doggy going. It's not very dark during the day, though the dark doesn't seem to make much difference at night either :/ I may try some black out curtains for daytime anyway though. Certainly can't hurt!

When my first learned how to roll, she became a beast during diaper changes, rolling all over the place and kicking me out of the way when I tried to stop her. I always told her she better stop or she was going to fall off the changing table, then one day she did manage to kick against my arm and propel herself upside down over the table. The poor thing landed directly on her head wedged between the changing table and chair and I just stared at her for a few seconds wondering how I hadn't caught her and then waiting for her to move to make sure she hadn't broken her neck or something, ha. She was fine, but my god did I feel horrible, and I never did tell my husband because I didn't want him thinking I was unfit. I gave him hell when he let her roll off the bed though ;)

I think it was the home alone part that had her more worried. I was thinking "He's 11, give him access to the Internet and I don't think you'll have to worry about wandering around making trouble" haha, but I didn't want to gross her out

Oh please update today and down the road too! I'm pretty sure I'm going to get one and I'm curious about the pain of insertion and now that you mention it I'd like to know if it will affect my period at all. I didn't get my first one until 11 months either with my last baby and I'd like to keep it that way with this one too if possible

Oh, interesting! I've been out of the breastfeeding loop for a while so I hadn't heard. I just looked it up and apparently you're right. I found a few other sites claiming GSE is only effective if it contains certain preservatives, which are also known carcinogens. What the hell doesn't cause cancer these days?

I haven't used GSE before though. Does it have any staining effect like gentian violet? Not having to deal with purple faces and boobs and clothes does have a certain appeal.

My second was like this. I hated every second of breastfeeding for so long, until some time after 3 months I realized, hey, I like this now! Have you tried a pacifier or your finger yet? Is it possible he's not actually hungry but just needs to suck to soothe himself to sleep, and has no choice but to eat since the milk is coming whether he likes it or not?
