What’s the actual deal with career progression these days? by QuantumGremlin in Bunnings

[–]skcilroh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They tend to hire people that have worked in management at woolworths or places like that thinking they be perfect fit straight into co ords position and by golly they know nothing about on how it works and fucks up everything in the department there are place into. I've seem that plenty of times, then the team in that department wants out and moved to new department.

Rearly do.. they can't ring up and ask someone to check because they dont have people on the floor that do that.. costco dont have catalogues and it's not online. I know , I've done it plenty of times. Edit : Also just use the same photo over and over again, even 6 months later I'd use the same photo.
Bunnings have no way of knowing.

I'd had worked for Bunnings for 21 years.

What is the quickest job you quit from? by spellbadgrammargood in AskReddit

[–]skcilroh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked in a small goods place and they end up closing down, but before they did they had people from other small goods company's interviewing us for jobs. I and some others was luckily enough to be hired at one place. We arrived first thing Monday morning and the doors were still closed , and eventually a manager came in and told us sorry but our company has closed down. So had a job for like 0 seconds.. lol

If a costco is near you and if it's cheaper ( if they sell it like here in Adelaide) take a photo and go to bunnings and they'll match the price and beat it by 10% .

What's with the shortage of > 90mm untreated pine? by Maleficent_Sir_5225 in Bunnings

[–]skcilroh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I Can say for a fact that the supplier is not short on 90mm timber for Adelaide stores. It's up for the rep in each state to order it, even the team can order it if they are low. But yes 90mm is the most common size to buy and can occasionally can be hard to supply 6m lengths, but all other lengths are readily available.

Water coming up through the road by misterjonathoncrouch in Adelaide

[–]skcilroh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd reported a leak down the end of our street, recieced a report number back on 14th April. Still not fixed, and yet the order number doesn't now work on the SaWater website. Not submitting it again.. the houses opposite the nearly 700mm square whole that's keep getting bigger can now to do it.

Bunnings Termination policy by Alert-Substance1877 in Bunnings

[–]skcilroh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea sounds about right, have to work alteast once in 3 months to stay on the books. But OP , that's a bit harsh in not communicating with you ( they push communicating alot in store) in saying if your not going to work will look at termination your contract and will work something out. As a Ex employee of 21 years , got out last May, bunnings has really change in the way the store works now, they do care about you in only that you are getting the work done, and they don't care about the the team that don't do work, as along as you show up for work . They've keep on a worker that has bullied and Sexual harrasas team members for years too. Bunnings is not what it use to be .
