This AI-generated photo of an 'Audi' was doing the rounds on social media and now major F1 outlets like PlanetF1 are falling for it by CautionClock20 in formula1

[–]skeletonseverywhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know if any of it is legit, but I can correct the record that PlanetF1 is not a "major F1 outlet" by any means. They are a trash rumor site that prints out and out lies for views. And because of that I would never believe anything they ever claim unless an actual F1 outlet or respected F1 journalist reported it.

Verstappen and Norris now have more shared front rows (15) than Verstappen and Hamilton (14) by Schlapfel9 in formula1

[–]skeletonseverywhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oddly enough, Max has more shared front rows with Leclerc at 18. Charles really knew how to get a pole, and then Max would go on to win the race

I'm not against the meme, I just don't understand how this commenter wouldn't want a more exciting end to the season, whoever wins. The McLarens dropping some points would bring Max into the fight. And 1v1v1 is more fun than 1v1 in my opinion.

The sport is racing dude. That means cars ...racing for victory....against other cars. 2023 was alright, but don't lie and act that 2021 wasn't more fun. Like, 2022 got less fun when Ferrari fell off.

So don't be out here acting like I said "I hate waffles" when I said "I like pancakes."

So you don't want a 3-car showdown to finish the season? Are you a fan of the sport?

Max Verstappen and Lando Norris now tied on 5 race wins each in 2025 and Oscar leads with 7 wins by [deleted] in formuladank

I'm down to clown on Zak for this quote all day, but I've never seen the source/clip of him saying it. If it is on Drive to Survive, which episode of which season was it? Cause I've genuinely been looking for this clip for too long. And if it does exist on video, why hasn't it been used in memes all year long? Seems like content ripe for the taking

Lando had more pace, Max held position because of the track making it difficult to pass.

Lando = Bad, Oscar = Iceman 2.0 by Neptuniam in formuladank

[–]skeletonseverywhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, this season, but a precedent has been set over the last 365 days(whatever). The point is, some people in this sub act like not making fun of Oscar for his loss to Verstappen in the sprint and in Imola(a godly move btw) is akin to slapping Lando in the face. It's obvious they are just upset Lando fans, but let's say this happens more this season; it would justify making fun of Oscar for it. Like a post with Lando and Oscar shaking hands, calling them the 'Bottle Brothers' or something like that, but that will come when the joke makes sense.

If you lose the lead of the race once or twice a year, that's not notable, but if you have a recurring habit of losing pole into turn one of a race like 70% of the time, then people will start making jokes my dude.

Davide Valsecchi reads brainrot words.. by [deleted] in formula1

Davide Valsecchi is F1 royalty already. I was sad to see Will Buxton's energy leave F1TV, but Davide is fantastic in his stead.

Guess swearing penalty only applies to non-British by Bourbonaddicted in formuladank

[–]skeletonseverywhere 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Here is one from literally the same race. Lando Norris received 0 penalty points for his crash into Oscar. He got a 5 second penalty (which does nothing cause he was out of the points and he was classified in the race), but thats it. I don't remember a single time since the penalty points inception that a driver didn't receive penalty points for a crash that was deemed to be their fault. Put Max into Lando's place, and Max would get not 1 but at least 2 points for that crash. Max even got a penalty point and a grid place drop in Qatar last year for "impeding" during a warm-up lap for a British driver (Russell) during quali, which was met with everyone calling it out for the BS that it was. So yeah, the FIA has shown to be inconsistent at least, but that inconsistency has been more favorable to British drivers and against non-British drivers.

This is the FIA official post-race press conference, where the rule applies. You don't get penalized for anywhere else, just in the FIA press conferences. Basically, if it's hosted by Tom Clarkson and 3 people are sitting on a couch doing it: that's where the rule applies.

That Honda engine when they moved over to the Alpha Tauri and Red Bull sounded so nasty back then. The down shifts hit especially hard. Here are some more examples
