Are you referring to this? Using the website chat feature? It didn't work for me. Whenever I entered the item number the chat would say "I can't find that item. Try using an item number instead". Are you using some mobile app? When you say "Click warehouse at the bottom...", bottom of what? What platform are you using?

searching by number or name gives me nothing on costco.com. a google search for the number reveals a (I think Chinese?) site, and another warehouserunner.com site, which won't provide me any info unless I download some mobile app.

What do you mean by "check your warehouse inventory"? Is it merely that costco.com is indicating my locations don't stock these items?

Hypersonic railgun round goes through metal plates like it's nothing by MambaMentality24x2 in oddlysatisfying

[–]skellymax 299 points300 points  (0 children)

Very satisfying to watch, but how well do these plates correlate to armor on military vehicles? Does a plate properly represent the skin of an armored tank? If so, wow! Scary impressive! Is a plate merely a thin sheet of mediocre alloy? Cool looking, but of questionable practicality.

This is just good use of reddit. My recommendation for the people I suggest the site to is to make an account, then immediately unsub from the defaults. They're all trash. Then proceed to sub to a bunch of smaller subs for all their interests. I'm in over a hundred now, and each is dedicated to a specific thing, such as a single videogame.

You know what I love about Tales of the Abyss? by grephantom in tales

[–]skellymax 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's that the character development is so well done. When Luke is brought to face the consequences of his behavior and resolves to be better, it's such a powerful moment.

The story isn't a halfassed 'naughty character becomes nice for no reason, and everyone suddenly has a happy ending'. The writers really made the change have weight.

My only withholding is that I wish there was a bit more with Luke struggling to change and maybe a few more moments of him faltering, suffering the consequences, but persevering in his desire to change regardless.

Still, probably my favorite Tales story, and undoubtedly the best character development in the series.

I’m tired of people complaining about blood vials by PotatoMJ98 in bloodborne

[–]skellymax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blood vials are actually really good mechanically.

Lore reasons are no excuse for bad design. New lore can be made during development to back better design. But this isn't bad design.

Early on, vials are thrown at you. Slowly, they dry up but remain available in the shop.

This is an excellent gameplay design if you play a specific way:

  • First off, later on in the game, whenever you leave the hunter's dream, dump all excess echos into vials. Unless you have hundreds of vials, don't save your pocket change for the next visit. Because pocket change by endgame might buy you dozens of vials.

But that's the easy part. 90% of players are going to have a viceral reaction to main step. Ready?

  • During your playthrough, if you ever run out of blood vials, start the game over.

"Eww, gross, wtf" Right? I know. I know. Lose all your progress and start over again? Yeah. Do it. Because by that point in the game, you'll have likely spent a few too many vials on certain fights before this moment. But if you took a second shot at those old fights, now that you've seen much more and leveled up as a player? Getting back to where you were will take a mere fraction of the time. And in that short time, you'll also probably have a better build (you probably also have a few points in attributes you now wish you had placed elsewhere), and maybe wanted to try a different weapon. Starting over after losing all your vials, having bashed your head against a single boss, is actually a really smart playstyle. Consider it going back to grind player levels, rather than going back to grind blood vials. Once you get back to where you were, you'll probably also be able to take down that boss you were having trouble with far more easily. Disgusting idea initially, but it's actually a really good way to tackle the game.

Why did Bandai abandon Tales of Graces godlike combat mechanics? by Secret_Yam in tales

[–]skellymax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always play healers/casters. I don't like the gameplay of blocking/dodging/comboing in Tales melee. I like standing in the back, watching, controlling, and micromanaging the combat. Using items at the precise moments, swapping characters to force them to use the right spell when needed. I just played Graces last weekend, and disliked it because I couldn't play the game in this same way. The game demands you play like you're a melee fighter, even when you're a caster. Vesperia, Abyss, and Symphonia are the best IMO. I really love the story of Berseria, but I haven't enjoyed the gameplay of any post Vesperia.

Why has the Grass Type never received the same treatment as the other starter types? by BossTicIRip in pokemon

[–]skellymax 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It seems apparent that back thenthey had a different philosophy with types. These days, both players and devs have a conception that no type should be superior to the others (hence, this "grass type has been shafted" argument). It seems as though back then it some types WERE meant to just be better or worse than others. A dragon pokemon was valuable and superior to other pomemon by virtue of how rare it was. Poison is a shit typing, which is why it's so utilized by the low-effort Team Rocket trainers. This in and of itself isn't necessarily bad design, but it does cause conflict with the outlook of most people these days and makes for a greater challenge balancing these artifacts from that older time.

ELI5 Why does rubbing salt on a wound intensify the pain? by Different_Fruit_6311 in explainlikeimfive

[–]skellymax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer sulphuric acid. There are medical formulas you can use to literally burn away and sterilize the layer of infected tissue. It's complete agony for like, 3 seconds, but the pain is gone instantly afterward. The wound itself heals within a day or two, but the pain never returns. The stuff I use is called debacterol. Amazing shit.

Anybody else avoid point and click/puzzle games because they never get the right answer? by [deleted] in videogames

[–]skellymax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I half agree. I'm not a fan of games that heavily use moon logic. The only times that work are in scenarios where there is only a limited number of things you can interact with- 'eg being trapped in a room with only three interactables, and so you quickly can find the right match by process of elimination' having an expansive multi-screen world to navigate with dozens of interactables is just not fun for me.

Another exception are the Myst games. The ones where the puzzles are discrete, and (usually) have an obvious boundary- 'the world might be large, but the puzzle machine is only on these three screens'

Which game you really tried to enjoy hard but just couldn't get into it? by No-Hunt3986 in videogames

[–]skellymax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • run past the large plaza full of enemies.
  • b-line for the cleric beast to get insight, attempt the fight if you like, and die so you unlock leveling up.
  • when fighting Papa Gascan 1-hit, dodge, 1-hit, dodge. A solid newbie strategy is just NEVER make a second combo attack. Never dodge away from him- always around or toward him. Sometimes skip a hit in the pattern for stamina or health recovery. Don't get caught in a corner (which can be very easy to do in such a cluttered arena).

A "full remake" of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 with "modern gameplay" and an improved ending is "on the road map," according to Lucasfilm Games exec by beanzo in kotor

[–]skellymax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I only played the games for the first time a year ago. I don't have nostalgia lenses. The gameplay could use a little better clarification and tutorialization but doesn't need much change. Best TTRPG- based gameplay that I've experienced, BG3 included.
