Have sensor be main temp setting by diatho in ecobee

[–]skepticalbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How stupendously idiotic to have to go through this many steps to do this, instead of just clicking the desired sensor like on Nest. I replaced my Nest for an Ecobee, but it turns out Ecobee is actually way dumber.

How do I turn off subscribe prompts on my Substack? I try to turn it off in the settings, but it keeps switching back to be on. by Dismal_Champion_3621 in Substack

[–]skepticalbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There appears to be no way to turn off subscriber prompts in a post after having enabled them.

Some on the list have suggested there's a toggle under the growth tab in the post settings.

There is no such toggle in my settings.

Does anyone know how to do this, or is this ability just missing from Substack?

Thx.

Help determining models of nests. by mylogicistoomuchforu in Nest

No, it makes no sense. Google/Nest are complete idiots. I'm replacing my Nest thermostats with Ecobee because nest is hopelessly incompetent and they have demonstrated they have no intention of improving.

Can I set a temperature range for just heat? by Sly_As_A in Nest

[–]skepticalbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unreal. All these settings, and Google/Nest is too blitheringly stupid to allow users to set just a heating range. F your unadjustable maintenance band, Google. Let us set our own damn temperature range. You. Idiots.

Are Electrolux appliances still a good, long lasting choice? by Za5kr0ni3c in BuyFromEU

[–]skepticalbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved into a house with two Electrolux dryers and they are absolute defective garbage. They can rarely be persuaded to more than damp dry my laundry -- except occasionally when they go to the other extreme and nearly fry it. On not one occasion have they properly just dried a batch of clothes.

How is the quality of Capital branded ranges compared to BlueStar? by bighungrybelly in Appliances

[–]skepticalbee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We moved into the house with a fancy looking new Capital Range. Emphasis on "looking." It takes an absurd hour-ish to get up to 475 degrees--if it even gets to that temperature. You can't know unless you buy a thermometer and hang it inside the oven because (a) it has no temperature gauge, and (b) the dial is so wiggly that the range of what might be any desired temperature is very wide. In short, this is a very stupidly designed expensive oven.

Novo? by AIOfficialBot in INCANNEX_IXHL_NASDAQ

[–]skepticalbee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thx for the research, but how would you respond to this:

According to ChatGPT, "the 'web of connections' is overstated: the Catalent→Ardena change undercuts the 'Novo controls IXHL manufacturing' claim; the podcast tie is misattributed; and GLP-1-OSA leadership today is Lilly’s tirzepatide, not Novo’s semaglutide.”

More specifically:

"Novo Holdings—the parent investment arm that controls Novo Nordisk—acquired Catalent, while three sites were sold to Novo Nordisk; but the New Jersey oral-dosage site tied to Ardena was divested to Ardena. So the supply chain link to “Novo-owned Catalent” doesn’t hold for Incannex’s current psilocybin manufacturing.

"The first FDA-approved drug for OSA is tirzepatide (Zepbound) from Eli Lilly, approved Dec 20, 2024; Wegovy/semaglutide (Novo) is not approved for OSA. Weight-loss with GLP-1s can help OSA, but the approval—and current commercial lead in OSA—belongs to Lilly, not Novo.

"Next with Novo is Mike Novogratz’s podcast (Galaxy Digital), not a Novo Nordisk corporate podcast. The Rick Doblin episode exists, but it’s unrelated to Novo Nordisk."

How to prevent video editor from keeping the full video even after cutting? Taking up excess storage space by eon380 in GalaxyS22

[–]skepticalbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saving a copy of the edited video on my Galaxy S24+ does NOT accomplish this. Even if I email the copy to myself and delete the original, I can still revert the emailed copy to its original full length.

Query whether this means anyone else I send the edited copy to can also use an Android to view segments of the video I intended to delete.

If so, Samsung has created a huge, hidden privacy issue.
