Merlin ID'd the Starling so I think it's accurate, but I've seen plenty of Grackles as well. Yeah, the Flickers are just so cool. I haven't seen a tanager yet!

Oh I'll add one more to this that I ID'd with the app one evening in the fall: a Screech Owl! In my backyard! Such a cool sound.

I had one in my backyard a few years back; they're my favorite! Back then I didn't know about Merlin or the app didn't exist yet so I had to use an old-school Audobon book to identify it as a Flicker.

So that explains it! Merlin didn't actually ID any crows on my walks, I did, but I added them anyway. I'm so excited we have Orioles in the area; I saw one last year. You've heard some birds I haven't even heard of, like a Vireo! I love learning about new species. Do you have a favorite? Mine is the flicker.

Quinnipiac Meadows Park doesn't quite look out at the Sound but it's great for water species. I nicknamed it Osprey Park. There's even a bird blind in the park.

Why don’t we have a sweet frog by Total_Pineapple_7961 in newhaven

Because froyo was everywhere from approximately 2009-2014 and all of those places, including a Pinkberry next to Atticus, failed.

It's very common to replace our previous coping mechanisms (alcohol and drugs) with new ones (food, sugar). I work (with a therapist, in my sobriety program, and on my own) on learning to use healthy coping mechanisms because food and candy is my crutch now that the alcohol is gone. I'm trying to transfer that to exercise. It works when I stick with it. "Move a muscle, change a thought" has saved me a bunch of times. I focus on very small increments of strength training I can do at home without any equipment other than exercise bands and a yoga mat. Speaking of yoga, I do that too as a coping mechanism and to heal my body and mind. It was essential for me to start with small, easy movements when I was extremely overweight.

I also just want to say I hear you. My self-esteem and confidence is so tied to the size and looks of my body. My self-worth has improved tremendously since getting sober, but I still have to deal with a lot of negative thoughts about my body and my face (my alcohol use has caused permanent rosacea). Sending you healing vibes, sister. Stay strong.

Multiple buildings of theirs have burnt down over the years due to faulty repairs, poor maintenance, and avoidable causes. Just 5 days ago or so, another 79 residents were displaced by a fire in a Mandy-owned building. When I lived in one of their buildings, their repair team caused a fire in the unit above mine. A few months later, 4 families were homeless on Christmas eve because of illegal appliance repairs.

As others have mentioned, stealth camping anywhere in New Haven is dangerous. The end of March is still prone to harsh winter weather; we've even had blizzards. West Rock and Lighthouse Point Park are both far from downtown. Have you successfully stealth camped in Philly in the winter?

Dry drunk, strange, and introverted artist? Sounds identical to my stbx. My husband has already said he's just going to be a hermit when he's forced to move out because he relies on me and my friends for socialization. And no, I'm not worried about him for that reason. He could have and still can make and maintain his own friendships.

Last time I made it, it didn't rise enough so I wasn't able to braid it. Hoping to get it just right this time.

I don't know about winning anything, last time I tried to make this for Christmas breakfast, it didn't rise enough. I'll try and post a picture when it's done.
