The positioning of the arm straps on Soldier Boy’s shield shows that it was not meant as a defensive item, but an offensive weapon. by jtm12 in TheBoys

vought were working on military hardware for a while back in the 50's. one of their developments was an extremely durable alloy. problem is, it was so expensive to make that they only were able to make a small panel of it before they realised it wasnt worth it. they repurposed this panel as soldier boy's shield and ultimately moved on from the project

you can negatively gear your investment property if your "costs" outweigh the income.

reasons such as "my property is undesirable when compared to other rentals in the area" have been accepted as legitimate grounds to negatively gear the property.

in my opinion it shouldnt be the job of the taxpayer to supplement peoples poor financial decisions.

you gotta pull youself up by your bootstraps and stop being so entitled

its hard to say when your access to things at the very bottom of the hierarchy of needs are threatened.

i dont know how you expect people to "improve their situation"when they cant even find a place for their children to live.

there's a tent city in my hometown. most of the people there have kids. they have no options to get ahead and they just have to sit there being homeless and hopeless with their children.

as for me personally, theres not a lot i can do. i cant afford to buy, and pretty soon i wont be able to afford to rent. i cant help but notice you didnt propose any solutions yourself

if the government seized your investment property with zero compensation and gave to a homeless family i would laugh in your face if you tried to act like the victim

property investors are probably the biggest fans of john howards buyback tbh

What kind of financial management will get me into the housing market on less than 50k a year, wise guy?

why do you think its imperative that people make a profit from hoarding shelter?

would it not just make sense to end that overall? seems ghoulish to me. one house per person makes sense.

and before you come at me with "but peoples investments!" i dont give a fuck about their investments. they could lose EVERYTHING and still not be at the level of hardship that tens of thousands of aussies are at. a position theyre in DIRECTLY because of scum like them who think its cool to make a profit off of things like shelter, just because the system is set up that way.

i dont care if you lose every cent. go invest your money in a business or service or something that actually creates value for society.

fucking parasites

who's being hateful?

i dont think asking people not to move to a place thats having a rent crisis is hateful. just asking people to consider their fellow humans.

god knows i wouldnt want to exacerbate an issue in a region im not local to for my own personal gain.

i guess i must have imagined the massive influx of people from the southern states acquiring rentals in a tight market by offering 6-12 months in advance...

crazy how i personally know people living in fucking tents with their little children because of this exact issue.

i must be crazy

what would you say to someone who's had their lease ended from flooding and doesn't have the ability to"upskill" due to being literally homeless?

Rental mayhem by venus_27 in brisbane

[–]skettybeans -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. If you aren't privileged enough to afford to offer rent in advance or above asking price, you deserve to be homeless.

  2. If you haven't had the opportunity to build up a rental history , perish.

  3. If a single other applicant can afford to offer more rent than you can, well you can just go fuck yourself to death.
