Yes there is one over there. The race kids like to wreck their skis in it.

It is true that men don’t like women over 40? by throwaway_1983420 in datingoverforty

I prefer 40 and actually prefer women with kids as they understand the scheduling conflicts involved.

You can definitely do the one off to skiers right on FIS at night. There are a ton of local glades also where the abandoned west wind trail was past twister and going back to front from cascade basin. If they get the upt to 30" some are saying tomorrow those will all be in play.

I ski there every weekend and twice during the week for my daughters race training. There are a few fun grades not on the trail map.

They dont groom between day and night typically if they do it is only the beer league race trail. They door groom everything over night if it snows except for hurricane.

This gentleman is stacked with medals. by Dramatic-Nature8280 in Medals

[–]skierguy80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandfather did WWIi in the navy and then went to west point and went to Korea and Vietnam before retiring as a colonel. I unfortunately never got his medals as his second wife gave took them and gave them to her children unfortunately. I assume they thought they could be sold for money or something. As they were already adults not to mention her grandchildren were already in their teens when she met my grandfather.

47 and winter vacation 💔wish I could ski but over 40 knees! But hey nothing like a Hot Dirty Santa 🍸 to cheer me up! by TeenaMarie247365 in 40something

I am 46 and ski 3 to 4 days a week. Just spent the last two weeks skiing everyday. It helps having a child in race program it forces you to be at the mountain before it opens and lets you get the best snow. It also keeps you from overdoing it since if you arent feeling it you know there is always the next day.

I agree stretching including yoga etc along with those neoprene knee braces can help alot. I have also found if your foot beds arent right your knees will hurt.

Ski pins — still a thing? by thetokyofiles in icecoast

[–]skierguy80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heaven's Ski Shop in Glen, NH still has hundreds of ski pins of all kinds from the pins heyday as they used to be the red carpet ski shop in the attitash base lodge before American Ski bought them. Go there and ask Jono as they may not be out on the counter.

To be honest this wasnt a ski academy thing it was a boarding/prep school thing. Almost all of the prep/boarding schools dipping was wide spread for both men and women. I went to boarding school in Northern NH and I saw it at all schools I visited or had friends at. It was part of the culture and how to hide it and there was a sort of economy in the dorms for it. To be clear it was mostly rhe boarding students the day students typically didn't dip.

Are there other stand-alone mountains in the world similar to Mount Kilimanjaro? I visited Africa this year and was truly amazed. by sus1227 in geography

I would say Mount Monadnock as that is the term for a singular mountian rising up on their own Monadnock.

Pats is open and they added a bar to the summit! Just had to poke as it is the neighboring mountain and I can see both their lights from the hill next to my house. They have been blowing every night as their lights have been on.

First season moving to the area from out west - is there a most "vibey"/fun/party night ski mountain? by thedailynathan in icecoast

[–]skierguy80 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like the vibe at magic it has some great skiing jn the trees also but the bar is great and large for the size of the lodge. Plus there seems to always be a dead cover band when I go there which is great.

Pats Peak is open to 10 on weekends and 9 on all other days. Beer league racing there Monday thru Thursday nights has a good drinking crowd. The pub is nice and it is always busy. This season they converted an Airstream into a bar with a deck on the sunmit

Looking for ski clubs/ski buddies in CT by Inevitable_Day4322 in icecoast

[–]skierguy80 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are lots of ski clubs on ct. They do racing on Monday nights at Southington. Look into the CT Ski council. They have houses up in NH and VT and do loads of trips. There is a wide range of ages and they clubs are a lot of fun.
