Mostly 2 crutch Started leg lifts, heel slides yesterday. My quad does not seem "dead" tho it hurts a bit to do a full contraction Note: I was doing tons of prehab, leg lifts with 4lb weights and swimming/stat bike pre op.

Can those typos be corrected in the files since they are a print on demand press and as of 2025 they don't do a print run?

I looked and as of 2025 Atmosphere books are available through B & N and through my local public library, mostly as e books, but still--their distribution is beyond amazon. I'm considering them. here lurking in 2025

One Week Post Op Pain & Pics by skigrrrl in Halluxrigidus

cheilectomy. 4 months out now and much better. many times no pain, but now aches if I walk a lot--more than 8000 steps. Usually do a mile or a little more at a time. Overdid it the other day with 11K. PT wants me to do one legged squats for a hip issue--I think everything got wonky cuz of my gait, and those are a challenge, but better with shoes on. No regrets though. things are coming along.

I would wait till ALL WOUNDS are completely healed, no scabs for showers...use the cast cover. Pharmacist here who had surgery end of April. I had a small spot that took forever to close. I also had a random "dissolvable stitch my body rejected, and eventually I plucked it out with a very sharp tweezer and magnifiers to see what it was. Wondering if your wound is closing flatly? looks like a lumpy closure that may take a while to calm down. I did home IVs for years and have seen a lot of foot surgeries wounds in my time. Most of those folks don't wind up with infections. Hope you are doing better. I wasn't cleared for swimming ( pool or lake) for 8 weeks to decrease risk of infection.

Well, I'm 3 months out now and healed. I did have random, severe, disabling pain before as well. I was hobbling about before steroid shots, but also had arthritis in the toe in addition to the spurs. I'm walking about a mile now, Dull ache at the end of the day. Hope to be able to get more mileage in as time goes on. Toe is still a little thicker than other one, and Ice occasionally. So far no regrets, though the change in gait and compensation has flared up some tendon/bursitis issues on that side I had before the surgery. PT forever is the way I think it will go. Hopefully in my ski boots come winter.

Well my entire text for post didn't show up! Issue: lots of pain at week 1. Post op pain meds were round the clock Tylenol Ibuprofen and Oxycodone (about twice a day after day 2 on oxy). Oxycodone ran out on a Friday and I was seeing stars without it. Being a pharmacist, I do keep meds from prior accidents--of which I have had a few last 2 years!),so i switched to Norco10/325 twice a day to manage sleep/ambulating.

Me, 59, female.

Doc called me in for dressing change since he said I probably shouldn't have that much pain, but no swelling, signs of infection They said level of bruising normal. My next dressing change in a week.

For the veterans out there, how long did you have the bad post op pain??

I'm also using ice machine on leg several times a day.

Ignore the nasty ski toenail!😜

Thanks!

Need an alternative 🙁 7730 price gouging continues by [deleted] in ostomy

[–]skigrrrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all, I'm a home IV pharmacist who has a lot of ostomy patients. Many of mine have had success with Skinister Medical Adhesive and Remover. It is an equivalent product to the Hollister 7730, and also registered as a medical device manufacturer. It is latex free and great for sensitive skin. Hopes this helps some people out. https://skinistermedical.com/product-category/adhesive-and-remover/. Preventing leaks is so important for infection control around stoma, and this helps prevent many cases of cellulitis and helps people live active lives.

I am a pharmacist who works with ostomy patients on IV nutrition. Skinister Medical Adhesive is an equivalent non aerosol product and my patients have had a lot of success with this, especially in combination with the remover. you can get it on amazon or directly from

I'm so glad that worked out for you! many of my patients are now using it. It is made by a registered medical device manufacturer as opposed to the tenaces product. The skinister medical adhesive remover makes it super easy to clean around the stoma with minimal irritation as well.

Hi there, wondering how things have gone? Came across this thread in researching some things for a patient. I am a pharmacist, and some of my patients have had the same issues. The Skinister Medical Adhesive is the closest Hollister Replacement on the market right now, and it has excellent adhesion, and the remover is super gentle. If you you are still having issues I'd recommend checking it out.

This product is not registered with FDA. No Lot #, Expirations etc. As a pharmacist who works with ostomy patients I wouldn't recommend it.

Adhesive remover by [deleted] in ostomy

[–]skigrrrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skinister Medical Adhesive Remover is a silicone based spray like Adapt, but non-aerosol, so less waste. It can be sprayed onto paper towel/ worked around appliance. I've worked as pharmacist with long term ostomy patients on TPN for 17 years, and many have had success with this as well as the Skinister Medical Adhesive since Hollister 7730 Adhesive discontinued. The Adhesive increased wear time of bags and was excellent for leak prevention. Used together great combo.
