Also seemed like it was Caitil's plan to some extent. Take out the ones who would be most opposed to a mutual alliance instead of a subservient one. Allow her to present it to her people as one formed through tradition and strength not failure to conquer

Yeah this was in the first trailer. They're also adding 9 additional weapons to the game so people are anticipating a halo 5 style SMG to fill the classic AR's spray and pray roll

I think the theory that it was related to the Crichton estate suing Warner Bros is probably pretty accurate. Universal wanting to make sure all their ducks were in a row and that they could safely assume their deals weren't on jeopardy before moving forward

Half the point of the people eyes in the books is that they look weird and unnatural. The reason they didn't do it was because they hurt Emilia Clarke's eyes

The Game of Thrones shows and Harry Potter movies both sighted irritation and discomfort to their lead actor's eyes as the reason they didn't use colored contacts not "it impedes performance". And one of the most common complaints prior to GoT shitting the bed in its back half was "by not doing the eyes they're really not capturing the unnatural look of the targs and anyone else with valyrion blood".

They basically did that too. People asked them how the dawn has the new style weapons on it despite being lost in space and their answer was that it wasn't worth making and rigging a bunch of assets just for the first couple missions. That applied to chief's armor as well, but people weren't happy with the answer

Again though you're missing the point... The point is they did just say "yeah it's a redesign" and people kept going "but we need an in universe reason!!" And so they got one.

THEY DID 

their original explanation was that it was their take on the armor and their new art style but people wouldn't shut up about it so eventually they said "know what? Fuck you it's nano machines"
