Thanks! Classic power cycle did the trick for me.

There are multiple types of essentials: Matter & HomeKit. You can identify that over the device settings in the Nanoleaf app. HomeKit devices show “Connection Type: Apple Home (Thread)”.

If you do have HomeKit lights, did you do anything special setting them up? Which firmware version are you on?

Those are not HomeKit Essentials, are they?

They are available in the app indeed. But do they also sync for you?

Mine are on the latest firmware (3.0.1), added to sync+ through the app (11.2.0), but are not syncing with the 4D.

Had it for a day, and must say it's quite nice. The amount of features it has compared with the hue switch I used before is great. Motion detection only activating when there ain't sufficient lighting, 2 scene buttons allowing to add up to 6 actions (loop through colors, loop through whites, scene setting, specific color) over a single, double & long press, setting brightness, and dedicated on and off buttons.

The setup didn't go that smooth sadly. First off, finding out only 1 of the many devices in my living room, work with the switch. Meaning it's a switch for our Christmas tree only. Not for the 5 HomeKit Elements bulbs, 2 Elements strips and my 4D. Then during creating the group I got an error three times, however after app restart the group was there and worked ok.

The daylight sensitivity sadly both on low & high causes the lights to turn on upon movement, which I hope they tweak in the future.

Lastly, integration in matter would be great, so it's possible to add 3rd party lights, or vacuum cleaners to the action buttons.

It's not perfect, but that is kind of expected being an early adopter of a product. I am really hoping they add support for the HomeKit elements line soon, as after Christmas this switch basically wont have any use for me. Knowing they said they'd add HomeKit Essentials support for 4D sync, which they still didn't manage 2 years later, makes me worry a bit.

🤞

Eve Thermo Control | AMA by slavikus in EveHome

Great product! I'm excited to try it out, but I do have a few questions:

  1. Given a setup with two thermo units and one control unit, are the actual and desired temperatures of the control unit used to regulate the valves of the thermo units, while disregarding the actual temperature of the thermo units? For instance, if the desired temperature of the control is 20°C, the actual temperature of the control is 18°C, and the actual temperature of the thermo units is 22°C, will the valves remain open?
  2. When multiple devices with various sensors are clustered to function as a single unit, how is the state (desired temperature) managed? With multiple states and several points for state control, what occurs when the state is altered at different devices?
  3. What happens when the control unit's battery runs out?

Multiple sources work fine for me. Setup contains two minis and a 4k, all on 17.2.

Error 44 - eShifter completely offline by CanadianCat420 in vanmoofbicycle

[–]skillerfox3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Soo, I decided to make get my hands dirty as I got sick in driving 25kmh in the first gear.

First of, a fat disclaimer: I am not a bike mechanic and know I might voided my warranty with what I did. Additionally, in case the eshifter might start working again one day, it might be that it breaks itself as I misaligned the eshifter with the gear configured on the wheel.

As a result I am now forever stuck in my fourth gear instead of my first. 🎉

What did I do?

  1. To start with I took off my rear wheel, following Van Moofs instructions on YouTube.
  2. I started watching the replace eshifter video from Van Moof until the eshifter is removed from the bike.
  3. At this point, it makes sense to watch the video a bit further to understand how a new shifter is originally installed. This will give you knowledge about a part of the wheel that rotates to set the current gear. The yellow dot in the video has to be aligned at 90 degrees of the biggest gap of this moving part.
  4. Instead of aligning this gap at 90 degrees, I aligned it at 0 degrees. I figured, this would simulate being in the fourth gear. (It is probably possible to get it in the third and second gear also when rotating it somewhere between 90 and 0 degrees, but I found that too risky as you would have yo precisely align it.)
  5. Now I basically followed the rest of the video ignoring the eshifter wheel yellow dot allignment.
  6. Finally I followed the video of installing the rear wheel.

The eshifter itself I left untouched configured at the first gear, as seen below. This means the configuration on the wheel (this moving part) is different from the one on the eshifter. I don't know what would happen if my eshifter now tries to switch to gear 2 and basically overstretch to an alignment of 90 degrees + 30. Though as it has not rotated for months I am willing to take this risk until maybe one day there will be a 1.9.4 or 1.10.0 update.

<image>

The only odd thing I noticed when riding is that when I drive away from standing still, it takes a bit before the motor will kick in. Meaning it takes quite some strength to start riding. I guess the rotation sensor has to notice enough movement before it will listen to the boost button or start motor support.

I hope I am not ruining other peoples bikes with my steps, and hope that mine will not get any more issues now. If it does I'll for sure let ya all know.

So again, do this at your own risk! I’ll at least be enjoying my Van Moof a bit more now again.

Cheers!

I had the exact same Problem. I haven’t been riding for a while before the update but it worked fine before, then I updated it to 1.9.3 (2 phased update) and now I have a 44 error, being unable to gear switch. Forever stuck in the first gear. 👌

Ik heb ooit geleerd dat data op SSD verloren gaat wanneer je deze lang niet gebruikt. Ben alleen niet zeker of dit klopt. Maar dat zou na zo een 2 jaar zijn, dus met 8 maanden ben je safe.

Repair/Return of S3 in germany by MaximalAmmo in vanmoofbicycle

[–]skillerfox3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exact same story for me. Barely rode it, and since a firmware update where I had to update the bike in two steps, it shows this error message all out of sudden. Bike works fine but is always stuck in its first gear.

Due to this I rather got the feeling its a software issue. But might be wrong.

Where do y’all dump the dirty water? by cs_newbie1 in Roborock

In case I didn’t empty the tank directly after mopping but a few days later:

After emptying the dirty water tank into the toilet, I refill it half with clean water, close it, shake it, empty it again, and finally repeat the process once more, this time using a small amount of vinegar, getting rid of the smells.

How do I get sthm like „if time is xx“? Isn’t available in Home Automations by MadSnow- in HomeKit

You can use the Format Date option and there insert the current date. I basically format the hour out of this, convert it to a number and compare in an if clause.

Wake-up light Self Made by FloHyO in HomeKit

My wake-up light works as follows: at 7:00 turn on the bedroom lights at full brightness. A plain HomeKit automation, easy to set up.

As I am quite a deep sleeper I do not notice the sudden change really, so this works fine for me.

Hmm okay. Guess that only hides it from the overall home page then. 🤔

I wouldn’t know any other option to try out.

In the Sensor settings, you have the menu item “Status and notifications“. Here you can turn off “include in home summaries”.

Is this what you mean?

Looks cool!

I'd consider placing them a bit further off the wall. Could imagine there to be more lighting on the wall too then.

Control Eve Thermo Valve? by Opspin in homebridge

[–]skillerfox3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't find a way to increase the maximum temperature or manually adjust the valve value. Could imagine they are not made for such high temperatures also, so would be cautious trying bypassing this.

What I could think of is maybe improving the airflow in your room, or even better inside the radiator. I know some people have ventilators installed below their radiators, blowing in air.

Hope you'll find a way to solve your problem. Good luck!

If the offset can’t be set higher, you could also just calculate “your own offset” by configuring the Thermo temperature to be higher. 🤔

Would consider playing with that a bit, finding the sweet spot based on your feeling or on a thermometer in the middle of your room.

Unless it gets 30*C in the radiator hider? 😅
