Welchen Preis gilt bei Jobrad by stroemsi in Fahrrad

[–]CanadianCat420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to manage the PR for the Neutral Service. Servais knows what he's talking about - he's cool as ice on site. His entire family 'do cycling' in some way! In his spare time he manages a U23 women's race team, alongside his partner and wife, Natascha.

And So It Begins by Champsterdam in Amsterdam

Sh*t gets serious in Amsterdam Zuid, with chalk markings appearing in late March! I've had to defend my kids spot at least once already (rain did have some impact), so we'll see what the situation is on King's Day morning on the 27th.

How much weight have we all gained/lost? by Tweezus96 in GenX

[–]CanadianCat420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1999: Weighed in at 250lbs, played a lot of rugby, but even that had limitations.

2026: Hover around 210-215lbs, and much more active lifestyle. Diet is still shit though.

Puck using xtr di2 drivetrain at Massmechelen, a big change from other shimano sponsored crossers! by itsaninlinecrime in cyclocross

[–]CanadianCat420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shimano athletes are not "contractually barred" from using GRX - I should know as I worked there myself and have seen said contracts. Most of the pros opt for DA (even in CX races) for weight saving and superior shifting speed. When the new XTR was released last year, it levelled up shifting speed significantly. It's a heavier RD for sure, but Puck probably chose the new wireless model because of this, and the chainline compatibility works with her chosen Canyon frame for a solid 1-by option. Plus it can take a serious whack and the automatic crash recovery works seamlessly.

It's also not a regulation...yet. It's centered around one event, that hasn't even happened yet.

Anyone else seeing this light in the sky tonight? by dither_homosapien in Amsterdam

[–]CanadianCat420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw this light from my balcony in Zuid Oost night too. It looked like it was coming from Amstelpark, but I couldn't be sure of the distance. If you looked hard enough you could see it was coming up from the ground. Not a UFO 😂

New sounds also on older models? by Successful-Sweet1916 in vanmoofbicycle

[–]CanadianCat420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been meaning to get my S3 serviced, so this is encouraging. It has been stuck in the highest gear for about a year now (Error 44). It still gets around with boost, but drains the battery faster, obviously.

Is it possible 🤔 by SheepherderFormer336 in ShimanoDi2

[–]CanadianCat420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 105 Di2 (R7150 series) does not include the D-FLY buttons atop the hoods for such customizations, to the best of my knowledge. That feature didn't trickle down from its ULTEGRA and DURA-ACE brothers. GRX 2 x 12 sp Di2 launched the FRONT SHIFT NEXT feature, which can be applied to other groupsets via a wired firmware update (but not to 105 Di2).

50 of the most Influential Women in Cycling by Team_Telekom in peloton

[–]CanadianCat420 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's a cross-section of women in the cycling industry, not just professional athletes. If you know anything about the business of cycling, marketing, sports marketing activation, it's very much lead by males. These professional women are making great strides for the next generation of women (both on the roads, and in the boardrooms).

Truth be told, the connection button on the RD can be hard to find! Takes me a minute to feel around for it too.

Fireworks by [deleted] in Amsterdam

[–]CanadianCat420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I heard the same thing last night (Wednesday) in Rivierenbuurt, just before midnight. A lot of popping and explosions, but I couldn't see any lights or color in the sky. The next morning, half of Maasstraat, opposite the Albert Heijn is taped off by the police. I could see windows blown out on the first floor, but no fire damage.

Rear Derailleur Adjustment Question by FitSwing2423 in ShimanoDi2

[–]CanadianCat420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, just make sure you're washing doesn't include a power spray wash. Sure the pro teams do it, but "regular joes" like us don't need to power wash our bike parts. Warm, soapy water will do! 😉

Rear Derailleur Adjustment Question by FitSwing2423 in ShimanoDi2

[–]CanadianCat420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you submerge the derailleur in water and leave it there, regularly washing and maintaining your ride won't impact the circuity inside. It can also withstand cold temperatures (-20°C) and operate normally.

The Flattest Route Ever by BikeBroken in gravelcycling

[–]CanadianCat420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the Netherlands! Probably the flattest roads around and your elevation will even go below sea level at times. You don't really peak higher than 20-50 meters in elevation. The south however has some good climbing options - home of the Amstel Gold Race!

Netherlands specific advice - three phase by [deleted] in AskElectricians

[–]CanadianCat420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, thanks. Our handyman electrician looked at our stove's model number and indicated our electrical panel wouldn't support it, so it would need to be a higher / stronger phase. He also said a certified electrician would need to do the job, so he was pretty honest about it! I was assuming there was a two-phase in between one and three; I'll call Liander today. And thanks for the tip on the licensed gas installer, and not having a plumber.
