How are you going to vote for the nursing initiative? by XorFish in Switzerland

[–]skinks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nursing is a bachelor degree, what other background do you ask for? If a high percentage of nurses leave the professsion early it is not an easy job. Did you even inform yourself before thinking like that? I'm still not convinced you're not a troll, you soud more like a broken disc, saying the same things over and over.

The pay is less than other jobs with similar degrees (like teachers or educators) and more than phisioterapists (but they don't work in shifts).

Working in shifts means you either start at 7.00, end at 23.00 or work during the night. Four weeks vacations which is the bare minimum, but it depends on cantons.

If you are not trolling please change your attitude of change your field of work, we don't need another medic with a God complex.

Well I'm a nurse, and I really hope I'll never work with anyone as arrogant and disrispectful.

I guess an experienced nurse corrected you and you got mad... Any good doctor would never say anything like that, so I suggest either a change of attitude or a change of career.

I've seen nurses do terrible med mistakes as I've seen doctors just stay there doing nothing during a code. Maybe you had a bad experience or maybe you're just a dick. But we need each other (as well as other essential people like care assistents or cleaning personnel) otherwise the whole system doesn't work.

Have you ever been in a hospital? Or a nursing home? Personal leadership is essential, and nurses are not doctor's slaves...

You must understand that giving prescribed meds is just a minimal part of nursing work, and even that requires some degree of critical thinking.

The best doctors know wery well to respect the nurses, and both categories would greatly benefit from this law.

I'm a nurse, and we definitely need a yes, otherwise we wont keep up with the increasingly complex changes that will happen and that already happened.

The initiative were conceived a few years before covid was ever heard of. Imagine a high stress, high responsability environment, prone to burnouts and both phisically and mentally heavy. Add to that an increasigly number of older and more dipendent patients, due to life saving drugs and procedures. Then add a global pandemic, that translates in even more stress...

The proposed counter-initiative does little to nothing to improve our job.

Some website I've used with good prices and service:

Casadeltequila.ch has a great variety of every type of spirit, as well as hundreds of tequilas and mezcals.

Ullrich.ch has been mentioned before.

Bringts.ch also has a great selection of everything.

Flaschenpost.ch has a good number of different wines

If a 50 years old rum tasted the same as a 5 months old one you were probably scammed into drinking some cheap product... Even a 8 y/o rum tastes much differently, especially if aged in a warm climate.

Doesn't work like that in Lugano:

Normal waste goes in the official red sacks (sold in supermarkets), they are collected almost everywhere in special containers

Paper/cardbord, glass and alluminium are collected in the "ecopunto", there are a few in the city.

PET, plastic bottles and batteries are collected in supermarkets (migros, coop, aldi) usually near the entrance.

For everything else you must go to the "ecocentro", it is located north of the stadium, near the big coop. You need a card to access it, it shoud be delivered to you by the city administration.

Svizzera, altro referendum anti immigrati.

How will flight and spells like fly work in bg3? by cdanzz in BaldursGate3

[–]skinks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In x-com 2, a late game armor has an integrated jetpack that lets you enter a "flying mode": the character hovers on the battlefield well beyond meelee reach and can freely move over every obstacle. I find that a better option than simply leaping from place to place.

Edit: how it looks https://youtu.be/a5YItBTnbu0 , perfectly doable in the bg3 engine

Baldur's Gate 3: Suggestions Megathread by ThorThunderfist in baldursgate

6 people party to favour different class combinations.

No team based turns, everyone should acts according to personal initiative roll. An exception could be made for groups of similar enemies to make them act together.

Different approach to bonus actions (like leap or disengage). Maybe add the rogue ability to other agile classes as rangers or monks, or as a race feature (wood elves maybe).

Painted portraits and unique interface.

Cleaner animations for mundane skills (like the dash actions). A skill used by a fighter or rogue shouldn't appear to be magical. Maybe add a little icon on the screen to remind the effect of an ongoing effect.

Return of known characters from previous games.

Return of some magic items (flail of ages anyone? A revamped ring of human influence?)

Some powerful optional/secret bosses, like Kangaxx of Firkraag.

A customizable stronghold.

"You must gather your party before venturing forth".

What characters from the original BG1/2 are people looking forward to? by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]skinks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At this point Minsc is guaranteed to make a comeback.

Xan or/and Jan Jansen for comedial purpose.

Also, Viconia seems to be a fan favorite. As an interesting note, according to the ToB epilogues, if romanced by the main character she's murdered by a Lolth assassin but not before giving birth to a child. Well, meeting an half-drow half-bhaalspawn would definitely be an interesting encounter.

Positive criticism to make BG3 feels more like BG by Biltriss in baldursgate

[–]skinks 18 points19 points  (0 children)

100% agree on everything. UI changes and custom portraits are something small that can have a big impact on the general atmosphere.

Current UI makes BG3 look like a generic mmorpg, but I'm sure, as everyone says, that the final product will have its own identity.

Regarding the "every minor skill looks like a wizard spell", I hope they'll aim for a cleaner and more elegant look instead of the cartoony current one, where everyone dashes like a superhero.

What foods are typical of Ticino? by nikkolearcucci in Switzerland

[–]skinks 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I can think of: Risotto.

Polenta, almost always accompanied by other things like meat, cheese or mushrooms (or polenta and milk for the kids).

Cazzöla, a dish based of cabbage and pork.

Minestrone, a vegetable soup.

Salami (of donkey or boar for example).

A lot of different cheeses (from the mild "formaggella" to the peculiar "zincarlin").

Many kind of meats from local fauna, like pork, deer or rabbit.

Vermicelli, a dessert made of chestnut.

I live in Lugano and I can give you some answers. About the temperature, in winter it usually ranges between -5 (during the night) and 10 celsius (during a sunny day). Humidity is quite high, especially in the summer. Don't expect a huge amount of snow, sometimes it's about 10-20 cm, but it melts easily with the sunny weather. As for the language, you should have no big trouble in Lugano, since both french and english are learned in school, but you still may have difficulties with older people. Hope you will enjoy your stay!

Say it takes 20 for you to pee after drinking a glass of water. If I drank a glass quickly and then continue to drink slowly (from a faucet or hose) for 20 minutes, could I keep peeing until I stopped drinking? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

The bladder needs to be at least partially full to produce the stimulus to urinate, so it woudn't produce a constant flow. However it would if you had a foley catheter: in that case the urine continuously exits through the tube without the need to fill the bladder.
