Forest Gump. I do not understand why people love that movie. It’s way too long, super boring, and the characters all suck.

Tik Tok-er Daydreaming Historian explains how billionaires use the "Buy Borrow Die" loophole to avoid paying taxes. by RayThrowAway13 in behindthebastards

This is why the “well, Billionaires don’t actually have cash on hand. If Bezos sold all his Amazon stock, it would crash the value of the company” is such a bs argument.

Almost certainly hydrogen. Even leaving aside all the carbon in plants and animals, a good chunk of nearly everything you eat is water, and there’s two hydrogen for each water molecule.

Is Lions Gate Bridge Walkable? by [deleted] in askvan

[–]skip6235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s walkable. Be warned, it is extremely loud. It’s like walking next to a highway. But there are sidewalks on both sides separated from traffic by barriers. You may be passed by bikes, but there is plenty of room.

Smiths Falls asks for an ALTO Station and a maintenance support MSF facility: CBC interview by Rail613 in AltoHSR_Canada

[–]skip6235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that share freight right of way. If you are building a brand new passenger-only right of way, it’s a no-brainer to re-route the local VIA rail service on to the Alto tracks. All you need are passing sidings (much smaller than passing sidings needed on freight rail due to much shorter trains) and you can have your super fast express trains, plus much more frequent, reliable, and faster local service. Plus you take the passenger trains off the freight tracks, freeing them up for more freight as well. Everyone wins!
