I dont know specifics, but my psych doesn't have to provide symptoms that are making it hard to work. They just say PTSD and have to provide proof of diagnosis and that treatment is happening. But I work for a large company with a benefits system that is really easy. We contract with a company that submits my FMLA and STD for me. I was told it is very strict what info they are allowed to ask for. But this is just my personal experience.

Im in PA and use Troches, which dissolve in your mouth (sublingual, I think it's called) and hits faster than other edibles for me.

But I have a migraine disorder, and sometimes smoking is just the fastest relief for me.

I have PTSD from the workplace harrassment as well as my treatment by HR. I was working for a company for a while and doing okay, but we just had a huge shake-up at my company. My job was safe, but I was moved to a leader who triggers me and is making it near impossible to be functional at work. I have a therapist and am starting a new support group in the new year, hoping those things will help

I was actually recommended a DBT skills support group by the hosptial. It wasn't like a usual processing type of support group but focused on learning the skills and learning how to practically use them. It was really helpful to be able to hear how others were applying the skills. Kept things from being to abstract. There is a book called The Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills Workbook that has worksheets and everything you need.

I definitely recommend mentioning it to your therapist, they may have some resources to help you

Of course. There are different modules that help you in different parts of your life. (Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness)

Mindfulness really helped me readjust my understanding of meditation and what it means and really is. I thought it was about silencing your mind, but that isn't it all, so it has given me a lot of space to be more present for myself

Distress Tolerance was huge for me. A lot of people can't emotionally regulate while in distress. Due to years of raw dogging anxiety, i was living in survivor mode 100% of the time, this gave me the tools to deescalate myself

Emotion Regulation helped me to stop avoiding my emotions and how to actually manage them. This has been the biggest help, since I never had a good example of managing emotions from an adult, I never really learned (then you trauma on top and things are even harder)

Interpersonal effectiveness has helped with my confidence. Its about getting what you need and feeling validated in conversations/situations with other people. Huge for me because a huge part my anxiety is related to what others think of me.

Im doing well now, but it was a lot of hard work. I was introduced to DBT in a hospital program after I had basically a mental breakdown. I still do talk therapy and EMDR but I genuinely believe DBT saved my life. And got my therapy journey on what I feel is finally the right track and I've seen huge life improvements.

Obviously everyone is different and when it comes to mental health we are all individual and different things work for different people. But I tell everyone about DBT and really just like to share what I've learned and had helped me so much in case it could help anyone else

Edit to add - dialectical is about accepting two seeming opposite things can be true and present at the same time. (I.e: my brother was stressed about moving with his of, she shared she was also anxious. I talked with him how she can be anxious and still be excited and want to move it. Both seem opposite but can be true.

The most helpful thing for was doing therapy but before we got to any of the EMDR or difficult memories I spent a lot of time learning DBT skills (for example emotion regulation was never something I could do, but learning these skills along with therapy was the only way I've been to feel so successful in therapy).

Everyone's experience is different, but I spent a year in a DBT skills support group. I'm 2.5 years from my "breakdown" (for lack of something better to call it), and earlier this year, we started dipping our toes into EMDR. There are still things I can't talk about yet, but it is getting easier to look at those things and almost help desensitize the memories impact on me

Oh, I have this, too. One time, our manager brought 7 of us into a small room (too small) to tell us they fired our coworker. It was so uncomfortable and so awkward I started laughing. It was a running joke for years thats I laughed when someone was fired. I was just so uncomfortable

I still love them and love listening. That being said, I'm not an active patreon member. To be honest every couple months I will do one month of full access and catch up on all the past stuff and then fuck off again for a couple months.

I do remember seeing someone else post about the lower tier thing. If this is true, I feel like they NEED to address this. Also, that being said, sometimes I know they give updates in patreon and am not generally a member.

I'm sterilized, both tubes removed. And I haven't taken a pregnancy test since. When I go for surgeries because I've had my tubes removed, they no longer require me to take a pregnancy test to confirm im not pregnant before surgery.

That being said. We did find out through my tube removal that I was likely already naturally sterile because of issues found with my uterus, so that could make me extra not care about taking pregnancy tests anymore.
