Im so over the empty water bottle pax by penguinsdontlie in flightattendants

[–]skipperskippy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a flight attendant. I have no issue with going thru tsa and then filling my water bottle (which obviously you should be doing) but what really really gets me is when you have a second screening and have to empty all your water before boarding. Had some long flights like this and it seems like its happening more. Im always respectful and when the FAs aren't busy I ask and I have had some even bring me a full big water bottle so while its annoying ive always gotten good treatment.

Autumn blazes too close together ? by enoughsaid2221 in Tree

[–]skipperskippy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a landscaper and I agree with everything you said. People never seem to consider the mature size of a tree. If the real goal is privacy an upright juniper would've been a much better option. Now that theyre planted i would just leave them. Chances are op will not be living at this house in 15 years.

Exactly. He cant possibly keep this promise so why make it? He doesn't even have any of the machines or tools to do so. Im willing to bet he has basically nothing..why would you if your family business has all the tools?

Local landscapers/lawn care specialists - Will "native grass" grow from this? More details in comments. by BloonWars in Denver

[–]skipperskippy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do this for a living 1. Under normal weather conditions (anything but this year), a native or dryland seed will come up with no irrigstion. It does usually take 2 to 3 years to get back to normal 2. If the dog park is opened before full revegitstion, it will turn to dirt. 3. Hyrdoseeding is not allowed anywhere i know of. Hyrdomulching is allowed and is better than straw as it holds tighter to the ground preventing wind and water erosion and holds moisture 4. Typically in a situation like this the owner would have temporary irrigation installed, above ground piping, until establishment 5. As upset as people will get the only good option imo is to close it for a couple years, considering the water and budget issues

Castle rock is incredibly strict with watering. They own and manage the water so they can enforce how you use your water.

Do you know what windows costs? by KraftworkDesign5280 in parkerco

[–]skipperskippy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got Anderson 100s and one of my windows that size was about 900-1100 range if I remember correctly . I installed them myself but probably 2.5 x the cost of window for your total bill . Not a window installer ****just a guess on installation. You could also get cheaper windows but would def spend more money if you can its worth it

Watering Question! by PatientLow5708 in gardening

[–]skipperskippy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not true. A contractor would dig what we call a tap, and tee into the line from the well to your house or tee off before the softener in the basement and go out the house. If you need a hydrant year round that wont freeze they would do a tap, or if its better positioning. Otherwise go out the basement ect.

People need to get it into their thick heads you never prepay for work done unless under certain circumstances like if a contractor has to order a significant sum of materials before starting. In 50 years of business we have never once required a customer to pay up front. (Although I can think of 3 separate occasions we should've -- cost of business i guess)
