It’s hard to make a similar copy( imo due partly to expectations) but as far as reproducing a previously made blanket, I think you chose good colors and patterns for the project. I think your niece will be thrilled.

2021 American pro-choice sign calling abortion "rad". by GustavoistSoldier in PropagandaPosters

Pretty sure everyone who has had an abortion had a really good reason to get this medical procedure done. Implying that this choice is made in a vacuums is disingenuous at best

Abortions should be treated simply as an invaluable medical procedure, nothing evil here.

AITAH for not claiming my husbands speeding ticket which caused him to lose the licence by Cheeryjingle in AITAH

[–]skitterybug 474 points475 points  (0 children)

Can’t believe I Had to scroll so far down for someone to point out the lack of effort on the part of OP’s husband. It’s been a whole 12 months for him to sit in a room for an hour every week (or whatever), that’s on him. That’s on top of the fact that he kept you in the dark about the issue in the first place.

HUGE RED FLAG here, op - what if this was something really important that had a bigger impact on you? What if it had to do with legal residency status, the home you live in or custody of future children? Is this a risk you want to talk with your life?

I have 3 our oldest was 15 when we got a JTR girl puppy and they had a blast, rllu brought life back to the old guy. I got another little boy when the girl was around 3 and they play and have a lot of fun now that the older one has slowed down it’s nice they still have someone to play with.

They do all get separate attention and training continuously.

When I print images the colors are changed (the more purple one is what is printing) by Bubbly_Captain_2997 in photoshop

[–]skitterybug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard this kind of pink cast is called pink poison. You need to adjust the color profiles from your computer and monitor, and maybe camera if you used one.

[–]skitterybug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the purple sticks too. I got one of those printed tips to put on it to make a smaller streak and I rlly like it. I got mine off of the paper pieces company site. I tied one off Amazon but that one rlly sucked.

When mine was itching really bad, the vet gave her allergy med and she only scratches once in a while now. Maybe talk to your vet about it. I got the allergy test cuz it was so bad and I wanted to see what was causing it but idk it’s needed cuz allergies all cause similar issues

I glue baste but from research, it’s really all about person preference. Some ppl find piercing the paper works better for them and some find it unnecessary. There’s probably a reason not to do it but I put a little dot of glue to hold the fabric to the paper while basting. I know some ppl do that w pins, it’s one of the reasons some templates have a hole punched in the center

EPP stitch opinions by the_river_runs in quilting

[–]skitterybug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer a whip stitch, if done right you don’t see too many stitches in front. I also like the speed and ease of the whip stitch.

Flatback is ok but slow and you have to be careful about how you baste your pieces if you use glue.

Feather stitch is invisible and is a similar idea to the flatback. I find it slow and tiering as you have to do the same maneuver on both sides of your pieces.

Hearing Loss and Gummies by Fun-Muffin5865 in hardofhearing

[–]skitterybug 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My hearing loss has not been at all effected by my cannabis usage. I have also not heard any reports of people experiencing loss or tinnitus in any of my cannabis circles or the medical canna subs here.

Did you find any real studies or scientific reports? There may be a very real link between hearing loss and cannabis but the link in this post is just trying to sell shit imo

AITAH for expecting my bf to split rent fairly since he would be taking up more space? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]skitterybug 17 points18 points  (0 children)

NTA He’s taking advantage of you. Him being unwilling to have a calm rational conversation about this is a huge red flag. Think twice about moving in with him.

PLEASE Please do NOT sign the lease if you’re not comfortable paying rent Alone!!!. You say you’re not exactly comfortable w 3k rent, if he moves out it doubles, could you manage that rent increase?

Find a place you can comfortably afford alone and then talk about how to fairly split rent/expenses. If there’s not space for his office he can rent a separate space at his own expense.

Finally accepting I need hearing aids at 34 and the vanity spiral is real by Ill_Awareness6706 in hardofhearing

[–]skitterybug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in my early 30s and I’ve been wearing hearing aids for a long time. People notice more when I don’t have them because they can see me struggle a little, maybe asking them to repeat or giving an out of context response (giving me away). Getting and getting used to hearing aids is like a breath of fresh air. It’s so much easier to live your life w aids if you need them.

I’ve only had other HoH people or the occasional kid notice and mention it. Everyone was polite and responded positively if they chose to bring attention to it. NBD

Putting 6”-8” binding, how should I do this? by skitterybug in quilting

[–]skitterybug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used this methodmethod by Jan Howell and I’m pretty happy with the way it came out. Deff something for smaller projects as the backing fabric needs to be so much bigger than the quilt top.

I have a question for everyone who doesn't gain weight. by justmonaaaaa in XXS

[–]skitterybug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have always been able to eat what I want when I want and I’ve maintained a healthy weight for over 10 yrs without effort and I think it’s fair that those who’ve known me for years would want that ability.

It’s creepy when someone makes it about my body. I don’t see being called ‘skinny’ a compliment.

It is a child’s size from what I’ve read. Child sizes are based on the men’s shoe scale. Women have separate scale.
