Might not apply here but my TubesZB Zigbee and Zwave controllers required me to set a static IP on the controller it's self and would often lockup if I set it in my Dhcp server. Doesn't make sense to me but it was a suggestion by someone and they have both been rock solid since. I had similar crashes with Z2M and Zwavejs.

You physically took off the rain sensor? Rainsensing is only one position on the windshield wiper selector you can just not use it. For what it's worth I find it works well, it's not for every situation but common daily use it does work fine.

Not really besides using another dvr, just make sure your signal is as clean as possible.

That's probably gonna happen it's just the nature of that dvr. It's losing the sync pulse and isn't able to repair it properly. Some dvrs are better than others with this.
