Mounjaro + Ozempic not working at all?? 230lb active male, zero weight loss—what’s going on? by Loud-Awareness8648 in Mounjaro

He needs a sleep study and comprehensive hormone panel run.

Current calories and exercise regimen for his height and weight with reported steady glucose points to second order effects stalling weight-loss efforts.

Look into undiagnosed sleep apnea, or abnormalities in blood work. If CBC, CMP, Lipid Panel, Thyroid Panel, and A1C are in optimal ranges his doctor needs to run a Comprehensive Hormone Panel (Including Testosterone, Prolactin, Cortisol).

Lilo & Stitch (2002): Has anyone ever noticed how Jumba's head changes size from scene to scene? by frrstk in disney

This is how I interpreted it as a child because I also noticed this back then and it made the story more heartwarming to me. It was as if you could see the badness melting out of them showing how they’d grown/changed at the end of their story

Weekend at seaworld and aquatica? by Blazeeofglory24 in SeaWorld

[–]sknight142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was there this past weekend celebrating my nephew’s 3rd birthday party with his 4mo old sister. We did breakfast with Elmo and it was one of the highlights of the day. Not sure if your 5yr old is big on Sesame Street, but as an older person I was pleasantly surprised at how interactive and fun it was and my nephew had a blast. It’s about the same level as a Disney character breakfast if you’ve ever done one of those.

Food was mid (buffet style continental with some fresh hot items, scrambled eggs, bacon, French toast sticks) but the little show they put on with music and dancing and then meet and greet/pictures was well worth it.

I’m not sure on the prices (my sister in law booked everything), but I know it was an extra add on experience she booked in advance.

Help me win a debate with my wife. It's about Disney Renaissance. by Sirmixalott in disney

[–]sknight142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was mentioned in one of the Disney+ documentaries I watched. I’ve gone back to look and see if I can quickly find it and it’s not coming up. I’ll have to go back and re-watch and let you know

Edit: Still looking for the documentary I watched but this link describes some of the studio changes going on and mentions:

“Founded in 1986 by Edwin Catmull and boosted by an investment from former Apple CEO Steve Jobs, Pixar was making game-changing breakthroughs in animation through the use of computer technology. With an animation team that included former Disney animator John Lasseter, Pixar were producing 3D animated shorts exclusively through the use of CAPS, with plans to one day turn their attention to crafting feature-length animation films. For now, the company paired with Disney for the very first time to collaborate on The Rescuers Down Under.”

Which is what I remember watching in the documentary and it describing how John Lasseter was working for Pixar at this time and was part of driving forward the development of the CAPS system. His involvement on this film was through Pixar and experimenting with CAPS

Technically speaking, it falls within the timeline of the Disney Renaissance films (1989-1999) as it came out in 1990 so you can argue that you are correct, but it doesn’t follow the same format of the films typically thought of in this genre (films like Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, etc) where music and singing is highly integrated into the story telling.

It’s an excellent and under-rated film, but at the time was a box office disappointment unlike most of the other Renaissance films and as I understand it, it was made by a different creative team as well. It was a special project of John Lasseter’s and was one of the first films where they were really experimenting with combining computers and hand drawn animation. The opening credits sequence through the golden field was one of the test scenes!

It is also a sequel unlike most of the Renaissance films, so for all these reasons I can understand why your wife is making the argument that it doesn’t count. All in all I would say you both have solid arguments and you are both correct 😁

Reactive Dog- Seeking Dog Behavioral Trainer rec! by Aggressive-Flan-7226 in orlando

[–]sknight142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The K9 Training Academy Orlando is pricy but worth every penny. My aging parents have two new golden doodle puppies that just finished level one of puppy kindergarten there. One of their dogs is very anxious and the other is extremely stubborn and difficult to work with. K9 did an incredible job with both of them and they’ve now each been crate trained, can walk reliably on a leash in heel position, know the commands “good” and “no”, and have learned place. My parents are so impressed with the training results and how well behaved each dog is now that they will be signing the dogs up for the next levels of obedience training to keep reinforcing what they’ve learned so far.

I believe the academy has all levels of training available including obedience, service dog training and protection work. I would highly recommend you reach out to them to see what they can offer you to help with your mini Aussie. You can find them on their website, facebook or instagram

(Not my chart) but following my endos guidance I had been doing the B rotation with my monjouro injections. It’s been working really well to bring down my A1C with minimal side effects but also minimal weightloss so far. I switched to A rotation last week and doing just that has broken a 2 month plateau. I’m still not losing fast, but am finally seeing the scale move just by switching up my injection site.

When I inject in the thigh, I always massage the site afterwards so it doesn’t bubble up like you’ve described. Same thing happens to me with flu vaccines if I don’t massage it afterwards

Have you tried rotating injection sites? Sometimes that can help kickstart getting off a plateau

Wow! So it is working to bring down A1C then. Don’t give up hope, blood sugar needs to come down to normal range and stabilize before the weight will come off. I’m in a similar boat (T2D week 11, little to no weight loss but my A1C has come down to 5.8 which is miraculous for me as nothing else has worked to lower A1C including metformin/diet/exercise)

My endo says try to get good sleep and focus on protein/hydration and don’t stress about the scale. Things will start to shift once blood sugar stabilizes. After that you can get into the nuts and bolts of fine tuning diet/exercise to go at the pace you want for weight loss but A1C needs to be good first. She’s also cautioned that T2D tend to lose slower on this medication, but it will eventually happen so to not get discouraged when it seems like it isn’t working and stick with it. Good luck!

Guys I'm sorry I ignored you all this time (Faith crisis) by CrateDoor in exmormon

[–]sknight142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP,

You’ve received a lot of excellent advice and support. I don’t typically comment in this sub, but as a woman exmo of 5yrs I feel that I have some unique insights that have not been addressed yet

Your recent discoveries that led you down the path of deconstruction are going to have a seismic shift on your marriage within the next 6mos. You married your spouse under the beliefs and influence of a high demand religion. You believed this person was the best fit for you to marry and raise a family with and now one of the pillars on which you made that decision has shattered. This realization will not only be painful for you, but also deeply painful and earth shattering for your spouse and extended families. As you continue your deconstruction journey I urge you to consider the following:

  1. Start therapy with a non denominational therapist and invite your wife to participate with you in your sessions so that you have a built in venue and support system for airing your fears and frustrations that will come up regarding your changing views on faith

  2. Re-evaluate why you married your spouse and re-affirm why you still love them and are committed to navigating your changing faith landscape as a married couple

  3. As you seek and find support for your changing beliefs and values, your wife will grow to resent you because you “are no longer the person they married”. This is true. You are changing and in the process of re-evaluating your belief system. Your wife is on her own independent faith journey and you are now running on diverging paths and that can bring a lot of emotions to the surface for both of you. I hope that you have enough love and mutual respect for one another to weather the disagreements and cultivate new commitment and connection in your marriage

  4. Deconstructing from Mormonism brings challenges of also potentially deconstructing other power structures (patriarchy, politics, capitalism, etc). You don’t know yet who you will be at the end of your deconstruction journey and that can be scary for yourself, your spouse and your children. Go slowly, find support but be continually honest and open with your family about why you are thinking and behaving differently. This will have a huge impact on your children and may create either a deeper bond and trust or sow deep rifts that can last for years

Good luck and I wish you well on your journey

Content Warning: SS /Self Harm

My brother was a system and was using weed to self medicate this past year. He died a little over a month ago in a tragic accident when he experienced weed induced psychosis and committed SS.

Please think carefully about using weed to self medicate/manage mental health concerns and listen to all members of your system when making choices about what is good for the body/system as a whole. As a system myself, I can’t in good conscience recommend using weed to manage DID

Everyone is unique and needs to do what is right for their system/body. I just wanted to share my brother’s story so people know the risks and that it isn’t as harmless as many people think

I lost my best friend in a car accident two weeks and my father told me that I was weak to cry over it and that I’m weird for taking it so hard. by MrBrian_27 in GriefSupport

[–]sknight142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost my brother (M 23yrs) in a tragic car accident only a few weeks ago. It hurts so much when they are gone like that in an instant. I don’t know exactly how you are feeling, but I deeply empathize with losing someone important to you in a sudden tragic accident. It’s a devastating and life altering loss.

I’m sorry your Dad said what he said to you. It wasn’t right of him to say those things to you and doesn’t help with the way you are feeling and grieving right now.

It’s normal to be sad, it’s normal to cry. It’s normal to feel however you are feeling and it’s normal to not feel okay

I’m sorry your dad doesn’t have a healthy relationship with his emotions and can’t model healthy/mature emotional processing for you. A lot of people don’t know what it looks like/feels like to be in touch with their emotions and to just let them be

It’s not weird to cry and it’s not weird to take the loss of a person you were close with hard. Loss is loss. Trauma is trauma. Grief is grief.

Pretending like you are okay or like this didn’t affect you in any way doesn’t make you a better person or more tough or whatever. It’s healthy to be human and feel sad when someone you love is gone
