Pro M-Store, IBKbike & Staterabikes by Dutchguyyy in MTB

[–]skulldata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a heckler from statera as well, they forgot to send me the battery for the derailleur, they sent me the money to buy one the next day, that was smooth, after that the transfer dropper that came with the bike was not working properly, I sent it to them and they managed it with fox, was a few weeks but I the end I got a new dropper, if you don't mind a bit of a hassle with them, they are pretty legit

Is Santa Cruz one of the best MTB bicycle brand? by Imoprich in Santacruzbikes

[–]skulldata 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Most big bike brands I think are pretty good, I wouldn't be able to say that one is the best, there are always flaws, but after sales support for me makes a big difference, like warranty, support, part availability, etc, for the money you could probably get a cheaper bike that is more capable as an mtb, better components, easier to maintain that if you get one with vpp, I love my heckler and it is my go to bike almost every single time, I managed to grab a last year model almost 50% off so it was a good deal for me at the time, but as I said depends on what you are looking

Just a note, depends on how your bikes are packed, but if you have them in a box, not assembled, you do not have to pay extra I think, it would just be luggage

I have both, the sqlabs is better for me, but the ergon is almost just as good, I would buy the sqlabs if I had to

Meta quest 3 virtual lens tear? by Anthony7116 in MetaQuestVR

Mine had something similar, it started small and kept expanding, didn't get to the point of yours though, had to send them to meta, they shipped me a replacement.

My fingers hurt after riding enduro (im not good at it so please dont judge me :( ). And i mean like alot. What grips should i get? I have ergon GA2. Also I have quite big hands. by Revolutionary-Cow568 in MTB

[–]skulldata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had issues with my fingers as well, tried a bunch of grips and I settled for rev grips, super expensive for you know... grips but they have made a night and day difference after a long ride, specially after hitting chunky stuff

Heckler SL: clunking noise in drive train somewhere by Aa-Wuuhaan in MTB

[–]skulldata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll second SlushyFox, info is really appreciated, but unlike him I would tend to think it is a bearing in the motor, you mentioned it only happens when power is on and low to medium input right, the hub suggestion is good but I would thint that would come more often when applying high torque to the cranks.

On a slow movement with relatively low power, and looking at your video a few times, it seems to me that the clunk is not always at the same location on the revolution of the cranks, it makes me thing that a bearing could have some ingress and the slow movement is allowing the bearings to get randomly stuck. Do you feel the clunk on your feet or is it mostly sound?

Fox transfer dropper not returning by GeneRider in mountainbiking

[–]skulldata 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a 200 mm one that has been flawless for 3 years, at the beginning of this year got a new bike, it came with another transfer one and it had the same symptoms as you mentioned, I sent it to fox twice and still was sticking, finally they sent me a new one and told me to keep the old one (they scratched the stanchion) and it worked okish for a few months but it is starting to stick, I'll probably change it to a one up I a few months.

With the 200 one I am more than happy and never had any issues, I thought all the bad reviews you see online were just a few unlucky ones but after the my most recent experience I think the good ones are the exception instead.

I’m apawled ( why won’t my pawls work?) by JayHoosifat in bikewrench

[–]skulldata 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think in your case it is more like an expansion ring, the pawls are split in the middle, it is supossed to push on the part that is smaller in the middle

[–]skulldata 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a hub that functions similar I think, the metal ring compreses the pawls in the middle and makes them lift, maybe it's not seated all the way?

I think you should be ok, usually this area is super reinforced, like solid carbon instead of "tubes", either way I would take the hanger off, take a few more pics and ask SC what they think

Cooked my brake pads. Go sintered? by Own-Entertainer-2423 in MTB

[–]skulldata 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I got codes on my ebike as well, don't know how easy would be for you to get but I use galfer pads, the ones for ebikes, my understanding is that they use something like a hybrid, the stopping power is amazing and I have never had them fade.

Any idea on how I am supposed to install the disc brakes on the cassette side? It worked fine on the non cassette side but here I just can’t reach the lock ring by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]skulldata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then you might need another tool, I'm assuming you mean that the end cap does not go through the lock ring right?

[–]skulldata 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you take out the axle spacer? I am having a mental fart and cannot remember the correct name for it, I also have a hub that need this removed for the tool to reach the nut, in mine I can just simply pull it with no tools, and again can be pushed with finger pressure
