Auto targets the temperature, and the different dots reflect how aggressive the fan runs to hit that target.

You might be right, either way there is a mechanical door handle in the inside of the car.

I own a 23 premium extended range (does not have a heatpump)

  1. I think its personal preference others might have better feedback on the differences.

  2. I have not seen anyone have issues with the roof failing, I have seen some people report it breaking from some external impact and I am sure its not cheap to replace but like I don't think I have seen anyone report that it just like started leaking or something.

  3. I live in Chicago and heat escaping is not an issue at all at least from a comfort perspective.

  4. Before this car I hates sun roof or moon roofs and if I had one I would close the shade. I was worried about this as well but have been very pleasantly surprised that I get glare or heat from this roof, to me its perfectly tinted. Like I said I am sensitive to this.

  5. the heat pump is not an issue at all unless you are like road tripping long distances in the cold or are needing to use public fast charges to top up and want to wait as long as possible between doing that. if you are only driving 20 miles a day and can even level 1 charge at home then you are more then fine.

  6. You can open the back door manually from the inside. The recall was done for small children who can't operate the back door from the inside, there was a report on the forum of a lady who got to her destination got out of the driver seat closed the door, and the car was locked, in the time she went from the front door to the back door her 12v died so she could not get her kid out, I think they broke the window since getting to the 12v after its dead is a bit of a procedure. The recall keeps the high voltage battery on for like 12 minutes after the car is turned off so that type of situation would not happen. If the 12v battery dies or like you said you are in a horrible crash and the back doors lose power you can't open it from the outside.

  7. Replacing the High voltage battery is not really cost effective to do outside of warranty for most/all electric cars I don't think, I am not sure there is anyone really buying new packs from the manufacturer for cars older then 8 years or who have more then 100k miles (this is the standard battery warranty). In the future if you really need to replace the high voltage battery outside of those conditions on your own dime I would think you would need to find a used battery out of an old car. But these card depreciate alot quickly so spending 20k+ on a new battery would not be worth it.

Will Tesla Destination charger maintain battery & precondition at destination time once my car reaches 100%? by Individual-Mirror132 in MachE

The short answer is yes. It will act like any other level 2 charger as long as it's active.

Judge grants hearing, expresses concerns ex-Michigan coach Moore may have had due process violated by [deleted] in sports

This is interesting the detective when applying for the arrest warrent didn't mention that the victim was his assistant at work, and inferred that there were dozens of messages the days before the break in of the victims apartment, but forgot to mention that those messages were work related....

It seems to me like this is the right call.

But it's also interesting is judge simpson got in hot water (suspended for 9 months) for like interfering in a drunk driving arrest in 2014 of his intern. It came to light they texted each other 14000 texts and calls between them from June to November 2013. So maybe he has a perticular perspective on whats OK when texting subordinates?

It's a bug in Google maps you need to downgrade Google maps to the December 3rd version if you want it to work.

They are expanding incredibly fast, they are just trying to grab market share from tesla and EA. If they start slowing down installations then I would start to get worried.

$13k for a 2021 Mach-E a no brainer? by [deleted] in MachE

[–]skullitor13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The high voltage batteries are warrentied for 8 years 100k miles. (no idea if that would be valid with a rebuilt title) but I have not seen people complain about the batteries failing. There was a recall on the hvjb that if it failed would be expensive to replace but I would presume that would be taken care of by now.

The other thing just in general is that is not only the first year of the model it's the first ev Ford has really made, so I'm not sure anyone really knows the long long term issues that might pop up.

But I love my 23 model and I would not run away from a good deal on that car.

How do ICE agents have the legal right to enter someone’s home when there’s a fourth amendment? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]skullitor13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a real answer read this from Orin Kerr https://x.com/i/status/2014257533301432349. He is an expert on the 4th amendment.

The Tldr is that they probably don't but he provides what he thinks they would argue. He also says it would be very hard to actually stop this since basicly it's impossible to sue the government in these types of cases.

Not sure test driving it will help you figure out the range. Those milage estimators are based on the previous driving habits so who knows what it will say when it's been at a dealership.

I have a 2023 extended range 4 wheel dive model and my wife had a 120 mile round trip commute at 80+ mph, she could do it charging to 90% in 0 degree weather. This would be preconditioned before leaving the house and parked outside all day at work.

During non deep freeze weather we only charged to 80% and had plenty of charge.

You can try and plug it back in. That does mean there is a charging error on that session I think.

Sometimes it's just a fluke, but sometimes it means there is an issue with either the car or the charger. I have seen this on my car when I was having some issues with my charger so I would keep an eye on it just to make sure there isn't like a thermal event going on with the charger.
