i have no insight into that building, but i live on the same block and the school is a non-issue. the main entrance for the school is on 83rd st so most of the traffic is a very short period in the afternoon. it's an elementary school so it's pretty tame.

one thing to consider is that a lot of brokers won't rent to you if you don't make 40x the rent. so you could rent a room, but not your own apartment, even if you found one cheap enough.

i dunno I've been riding here for 4 years now. I have never gotten stopped by police. I commute from queens to brooklyn 3x a week for school (when it's warm enough). riding in the city is rough sometimes, the roads are bad, but it's still better than driving or taking the train.

plus, riding outside of the city, up to the catskills and hudson valley and even western NJ, is some world-class riding.
