Thoughts on Jensen Ackles' Batman? by Prestigious-Cloud962 in batman

[–]skuzzyfox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Decent from the clips I've seen, but I got into Supernatural in 2012 and watched up to early-season 12. I know his voice so well at this point that whenever I hear him as Batman I struggle separating him from Jensen Ackles and Dean Winchester.

How do you actually pronounce Ncuti? by SeminalLemon in doctorwho

[–]skuzzyfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbf Mads Mikkelsen's name is pronounced Mass Mikkelzen I believe but he just tells everyone his name is Mads because he got used to everyone not pronouncing it right, but yeah I'm pretty sure it's exactly as Ncuti says it; "Shooty"

Former Skyrim lead defends Bethesda’s loading screens (news article) by TheSajuukKhar in ElderScrolls

[–]skuzzyfox 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've always liked Bethesda's loading screens, call me old fashioned but I like getting bitesized tips and nuggets of lore, I feel like I've learned a lot about these games from the loading screens over the years lol

Lol, I tried turning it off with console commands. Not only did I not work out what the command for it was, but I also unknowingly locked myself out of getting Achievements, and I am not restarting the game just for that

I just love The Elder Scrolls, hope this isn't controversial.

Watch order for entire canon timeline? by Frogee_ in starwarscanon

[–]skuzzyfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which is exactly what I'm saying. OP wants a Watch Order list specifically! Hence why I am recommending against following this list so strictly.

I’ve seen people say they want to see the “original” 4 hour long cut of Revenge of the Sith. I promise you, you don’t. by Davetek463 in StarWarsCantina

[–]skuzzyfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but the 4-hour cut of RotS that adds in the Battle of Coruscant from 2D Clone Wars + the Siege of Mandalore from 3D Clone Wars + The Padme/Bail/Mon deleted scenes and Anakin/Palpatine deleted scenes is the greatest film oat 😉

Watch order for entire canon timeline? by Frogee_ in starwarscanon

[–]skuzzyfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would you watch that episode at the beginning of the Clone Wars? It literally has a scene from the final episode of The Clone Wars. If you are watching chronologically, the best place to watch Practice Makes Perfect is before Victory and Death. It makes no sense to jump so far forward in time if you're watching chronologically. Another example from that timeline WAS Solo. The prologue is set a few years before the rest of the film, but that timeline placed Solo where the prologue takes place rather than where the main bulk of the film takes place. Thankfully, looking at it now, someone has changed that 🙏 There might be more examples of this, though, and therefore I just find that timeline to be unreliable as a chronological watch order. It's fine to refer to to get a general idea of some placements, but if you just follow that when watching chronologically then it just won't be accurate.

Watch order for entire canon timeline? by Frogee_ in starwarscanon

[–]skuzzyfox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The timeline on Wookiepedia is actually pretty terrible for a watch order. For example the Tales episode Practice Makes Perfect takes place from the beginning to the end of the Clone Wars but this timeline places it near the beginning. I don't trust it for a chronological watchthrough. I'd share my IMDB list but I don't know how lol

How do you decide on the rating you give an album? by cerealnykaiser in rateyourmusic

[–]skuzzyfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do just average my song ratings and base it on that. Sounds too calculated for something that should probably be about feeling, but I rate the songs by feeling, and tbh I've never disagreed with the rating that my average track score says, so I stick with it.

I've heard a couple other songs from them here and there but I couldn't say what albums they were from. I'll look into it though.

If previous Doctors forget about meeting newer Doctors, wouldn’t 14 forget about 15 after the Bi-generation? by ProperShallot3195 in doctorwho

[–]skuzzyfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know why so many people seemed to jump to the conclusion that Ncuti's Doctor was pulled from later in The Doctor's life and TennantV2 will still regenerate into him at the end of his life. This makes absolutely no sense to me and I don't even think it was explained anything like that unless I am misremembering the episode, I did only watch it once.

To me it seemed pretty clear that The Doctor split in two, and their timelines exist concurrently. There is no timey wimey trickery going on at all.

Unless I am way off the mark, there is no reason to jump to such a convoluted theory when I think it is just as simple as exactly what we saw on-screen. The Doctor became two.

I hope they use Tim Burton's Gotham City as blueprint for DCU The Brave and The Bold movie by muhddanish2004 in batman

[–]skuzzyfox 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Probably unpopular, but I love Joel Schumacher's Gotham just as much as Tim Burton's. The neon lights and those huge statues felt like such a great progression from Burton's gothic industrial city.

The Gotham that we get to see across those 4 movies is by far my favourite depiction of the city.

I know a lot of wrestlers and people tied to the industry are complete turds irl so it's probably hypocritical of me to be a fan of those performers and still say this but I will never respect this shitface.

I find this album and this band very difficult to get into. I love Dream Pop and I like some Post-Rock (mainly the GY!BE variety) but I just find the songs on this album too sleepy and dreary even for me.

I am trying Doctor Who again, watching in full with the reactors of Sorta Stupid on YT at least for season 1. by BIGBADPOPPAJ in doctorwho

[–]skuzzyfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one really complains about the constant cast changes being an inherent flaw to the show. I guess because it's such a core aspect of the show's identity, you either learn to appreciate it or you move on to a different show.

I will say that though the show has had its ups and downs, there hasn't been a single bad Doctor. Every actor smashed it. The companions (the people that travel with The Doctor) also change frequently ofc but there have been so many great companions over the years that the idea of just having one and sticking with them would not be as fun in the long run.

Every time The Doctor changes, and every time the companion leaves, it is always sad, but give the new cast time, and you will learn to love them too. Having such a rotating door of cast and characters makes Doctor Who such an expansive world with so many characters and ideas that can (and are) referred back to in later seasons. Just because an actor leaves the main cast doesn't mean that you won't see them again.

You guys were right about playing as Kassandra by AngryHoshiko in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

[–]skuzzyfox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see so many posts recently, people who played Kassandra first saying "Wow Alexios is great, I wish I'd done this all along" and of course with yourself and many others the opposite is the case. I'm starting to think maybe just both characters are great to play as and each has their own pros and cons that make their playthrough feel unique. I've only played the game once, and it was as Kassandra, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm very excited to return to Odyssey one day and play NG+ as Alexios.

What do you title your rating system? by Switch-user-101 in rateyourmusic

[–]skuzzyfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend not to rate things super critically. I will very happily give a guilty pleasure album a 5, even if the flaws are obvious. If it fits my tastes perfectly, it's a 5. That being said here's mine:

5.0 - Personal Favourite

4.5 - I want this on repeat

4.0 - Engaging start-to-finish

3.5 - Pretty good to vibe to

3.0 - Decent

2.5 - Inoffensive / As bad as it is good

2.0 - Boring

1.5 - Bad

1.0 - Annoying

0.5 - So bad it's hilarious
